- Nguyen’s second consecutive match with both a goal (3) and an assist (4). Nguyen’s goal, the 37th of his Revolution career, moves him into a tie with Shalrie Joseph and Pat Noonan for fourth place on the club’s all-time goal-scoring list.

This is showing Nguyen assisted on all 4 goals tonight, but the box score is only giving him credit for 2. Anyways, 8 goals and 10 assists on the season before tonight.

Similar to basketball, the player that makes the primary pass that leads to a score only gets credited with an assist. Pretty silly considering that aside from free kicks/corners, there's usually several passes that lead to a goal.

Still rolling!

https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/post/2017/09/23/nguyen-sparks-revs-bench-50th-career-goal-he-made-something-happen

Midfielder Lee Nguyen has steadily racked up some impressive stats in 2017, and when he took the pitch on Saturday night against league-leading Toronto FC, he scored his 50th career goal and 10th of the season.

Nguyen, who was listed on the injury report as questionable with a muscle spasm, was not named to the starting lineup, but came off the bench in the 64th minute. After less than 20 minutes on the field he found the net to put the New England Revolution in front of TFC, 1-0.

Nguyen went on to record his 15th assist on the season, playing a ball to Kamara, whose header proved to be the winner in a 2-1 victory.
