In case you missed it over the weekend, we reported that Indiana hired East Tennessee State's Kyle Bunn as its new pitching coach. IU took a hard look at Middle Tennessee State's Skylar Meade as well, but chose Bunn, who has extensive experience at Clemson, Ole Miss and Alabama, among other stops. Bunn's addition is a good one for the Hoosiers.

Our staff is officially complete.

Indiana University head baseball coach Chris Lemonis completed his staff Wednesday, announcing the addition of assistant coach Ty Rogers, who played three years at IU (2008-10) and helped the Hoosiers win the 2009 Big Ten Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Regional.

Rogers, who spent the last year as an assistant at Eastern Illinois, will work with IU's infielders, base runners and hitters.

"Ty emerged as a top candidate for this job because of his reputation as a great infield coach, his experience as a recruiting coordinator and most importantly, I really liked that he was a Hoosier and was dying to come back," Lemonis said. "It's great to have a guy with championship experience here come back and help another Indiana team to the same winning tradition."

The 2010 All-Big Ten selection ranks seventh all-time in IU history with a .349 career batting average in Big Ten Conference games.

"It was an honor to get a call from Coach Lemonis," Rogers said. "He's been a role model of mine ever since I got into the coaching profession and to receive his phone call was pretty humbling. The opportunity to work for and to learn from one of the best coaches in the country was a no-brainer."

Prior to his stint at EIU, Rogers spent the 2013 season at Oakland University, helping the Grizzlies' commit 27 fewer errors than they did the previous season while overseeing recruiting and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the program. His fourth year in coaching will be back home at Indiana.

"This program sells itself now on the national landscape of college baseball," Rogers said. "From the strength program to facilities to academics, Indiana is one of the best places to get a great education and compete on the national level. It's definitely an exciting time for Indiana baseball."

A volunteer assistant coach at Bradley in 2012, Rogers worked with the team's outfielders and saw two of his players get selected in the 2012 MLB First-Year Players Draft.

Rogers was an assistant coach at Parkland College (Aug. 2011-Jan. 2012) and a hitting instructor from Sept. 2010-Aug. 2011 at the On Deck Baseball Academy.

After playing at Indiana and earning a bachelor's degree in general studies, Rogers played professionally for the Gateway Grizzlies in 2010.

The Lafayette, Ind., native played one season at Ball State in 2007 before transferring to Indiana.

OF NOTE...
Roger Rodeheaver, who has been a part of IU's coaching staff for the last three years, will remain in Bloomington as the program's Director of Operations, a role he assumed last season. Rodeheaver lettered for the Hoosiers in 1997 and 1998, posting a career batting average of .316, 21 homeruns, 115 RBI and 33 doubles. He returned to Indiana as a volunteer assistant coach in 2012.
