IU Baseball vs Youngstown St in Regional

Recommended Posts

I'm no Illini fan, but I thought they would make it into the tourney especially after Indiana State stubbed their toe in their tournament. They had 30 plus wins and some of those were over seeded teams who are in this year's field.

Youngstown St must have turned it on in their tournament. Looks like they have 16 wins for the season.

So if IU advances, do we have a chance of hosting the next round too?  I see we are the #4 seed overall.

Assuming IU gets through their bracket, they would play a 3-game series w/ the winner of this bracket (in Bloomington):

NASHVILLE REGIONAL
Hawkins Field

Friday, May 30
Game 1: No. 1 *Vanderbilt (41-18) vs. No. 4 Xavier (29-27)
Game 2: No. 3 Clemson (36-23) vs. No. 2 Oregon (42-18)

Youngstown State went 16-36 this year and have a pretty weak pitching rotation. They don't have a pitcher with over 3 wins, and their "ace" went 2-10 this year. Looks like we need to be swinging for the fences early. They've been outscored 73-22 in the first inning of games this year.

I was searching mock drafts and came across this so I thought I'd share.

Speaking of Schwarber, here's a nice article about him from Grantland today.
