Book number 30 for me this year was In Farleigh Field by Rhys Bowen. Set in 1941 England, I thought it was one of the best I've read this year.

Just finished The Atlantis Gene and started the Atlantis Plague. Not bad. Kind of sci-fi'ish if anyone is into that.

Ok, I take it back.  The Atlantis Gene was pretty solid....Atlantis Plague I put it away after about 30%.  I like books that are semi-realistic or at least within the realm of possibility.  The Atlantis Plague takes it to a whole new level.  I just couldn't get into it.

I hit my goodreads reading challenge goal of 35 today. I think I was too Conservative this year.

Finished "The Lion of Sabray" the other day. It's an amazing story about the villager who took Marcus Luttrell in after the Seal Team 10 guys got wiped out during Operation Redwing. It's a touching story about the bonds of warriors, even from very different upbringings. It also gives a brief history of Pashtuwali that guides the people of the Hindu Kush. Good read if you're into that genre.

Now I'm reading Marcus Lutrell's "Service."

I'm a lurker lol. Ya'll keep listing them and I'll keep reading them. I think I've read at least 10 books that are listed on this thread in the last 8-10 weeks. On a personal improvement note. Divorced about 2 1/2 years ago. I've paid off all my debt incurred. I'm looking at trying to start investing for retirement. In my early 50's. Anyone have some suggested reading?

I assume that you are looking for financial reads, based upon your penultimate sentence, correct?  

If so, start with "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham and "Security Analysis" by Graham and Dodd.  They will provide you with a solid, fundamental foundation for long-term investing.

I started Killing Floor by Lee Child. It's great so far but was difficult to track down through the library system.

It is a great book.  Not the first novel in the Reacher series that I read, but really sort of solidified my addiction to that series.  Great thing is they're good enough to read them in any order, although I'd personally recommend order of the story so you start when he was in the service (doing so makes Killing Floor the fourth in line following The Enemy, The Affair and Night School).

I finished "Escape from Auschwitz" by Joel Rosenberg. It was a very good read, but character development could have been a little better with Character development of some of the Characters.

Before I read it, I checked out the reviews of it on goodreads. One said it was a terrible book because Rosenberg said the holocaust wasn't so bad because some Jews weren't killed. I didnt get that impression at all.
