Bo Pelini

I like Pelini's lack of diplomacy. That is my style. I do hate how the media is focusing on only part of his quote.

“They want to fire me, go ahead,” Pelini said. “I believe in what I’ve done. I don’t apologize for what I’ve done. I don’t apologize to you. I don’t apologize to anybody."

Is the full quote. They choose to focus on the first 7 words.

The AD came in and defended him too. But I think that it was lip service. I would be shocked if he is still coaching in Lincoln next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they let him go before their bowl game either.

I believe he's led the Cornhuskers to six straight nine win seasons or something like that. Most programs would love that, and Nebraska fans need to realize Nebraska isn't an elite program anymore.

Frank Solich had a slightly better record than Pelini, and they ran him out of town. And he didn't even act like a petulant jerk like Pelini does. Nebraska may not be elite, but that fan base won't believe it.

Understand the sentiment, but would the IU fan base accept that the basketball program was no longer elite?

I agree. People said our bball program was not elite any more either. You have a recruiting and financial advantage at top programs and Nebraska is likely still that. His results with those advantages plus his personality make it unlikely he remains. Just because he has had success we would want he may not do well at a lower program without those advantages.
