I get that...but I would hazard a guess and say that substantially all of the kids coming out of HS as seniors are not ready for meaningfully contribute at the college level (obviously there are exception), much less a HS junior.

Vonleh was... Bryant was basically as reclass. He contributed.

To me, it just seems like kids wanting to speed up the process of getting to the NBA... getting to college a year early gets them to the (potentially) big paycheck a year earlier... but you are correct, there is always the issue of maturity, both physical and emotional/intellectual. Some can do it, but not all can or should try.

One could argue that Vonleh was somewhat of a collegiate bust. I never saw him as a 'fit' here... and between his college coach and Vonleh's attitude, IMO, it was not going to work any way/and how.

He avg a double double (basically).. shot 53% from the field, 49% from 3, and 1.5blks. I thought the only problem was we didn't have enough shooters and he had to go against double teams his entire FR year.

Yep. He was a monster and misutilized. Doesn’t get the credit his talent deserved. The team unfortunately stunk.

Another big man that Crean completely under utilized. How many times did we go long stretches without our 5 star big man not even touching the ball. ALOT

“We had a great visit”, Trendon said. “I like Coach Miller a lot. He knows how to motivate guys and get the best out of them.”
The Watford’s still aren’t sure when a decision will come. “I just want to play AAU this summer and let my recruitment play out. Then try to win another state title next season.”
Asked what his feelings on Indiana are, after watching his brother’s career play out, the younger Watford smiled, “Indiana is great. Great fanbase. We have a lot of cool memories watching Christian.”

This isn’t an actual interview. I made the entire thing up. But I’m willing to bet it’s just about word for word what you’ll get in any premie ($$$) recap.

Maybe Watford reclassifies and joins us in 2018

I heard that Trendon Watford has reclassified to the 2016 class and will be playing as a junior at IU this season.

I heard that Christian Watford doesn't actually exist and it turns out that Trendon was playing under an assumed name for IU for 4 years already
