The Big Ten Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2015 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, which are set for March 7-8 at Ohio State.

Senior Taylor Walsh, who is 30-4 on the season and holds the Indiana school record for pins with 68, is the No. 3 seed in the 165 lbs. weight class.

The pre-seeds, as voted on by the conference’s coaches, rank the top eight wrestlers in two weight classes, along with all 14 starters in eight weight classes due to the Big Ten receiving eight or more NCAA Championships qualifier allocations in those classes.

^^ I guess today is the day. Devin goes for history.

AUBURN HILLS >> Richmond’s Devin Skatzka is a win away from making Macomb County history.

Skatzka pinned Dundee’s Donny Mandell at 5:16 of the third period Saturday at The Palace of Auburn Hills to reach his fourth straight Division 3 individual title match.

Skatzka has won three straight championships and will look to become just the 20th wrestler in the state to win four in a high school career.

He’ll face Ida’s Alex Phillips in the finals.

Skatzka, who helped lead Richmond to its seventh Division 3 team state championship last weekend with a 27-25 win over Dundee, is 56-2 this year. Phillips is 53-4.

Chippewa Valley’s Anthony Biondo is the county’s only other three-time state champ winning in 2006, 2004 and 2003.
