Other Indiana Schools

I know and hope none of us cheer for Purdue, but I want everyone else's opinion on cheer for other in-state schools.

I personally don't think it's right. I understand if you live/lived in a different state and you cheer for them. That's fine, but I find cheering for Butler, Notre Dame, Ball State, Indiana State, ect. to be like cheering for your rival. I know try aren't as big of rivals as Purdue but if you cheer for them on a regular basis I feel it's wrong. Every once and awhile, like in the tournament and Indiana's out/not in it or they're playing Purdue, is fine. I just wanted to hear what everyone else thought on this subject.

My mom was raised with Notre Dame football, so I'll root for them unless they were to play Indiana. I really don't care much about them, however, and don't even root for their basketball team. Other than that, I don't cheer for or care about any other Indiana school.

We get a few MVC games with Directv and I always will cheer for Evansville and Indiana St. if they are on.  Neither are a real threat to IU so I don't have a problem with them.  In all reality the only Indiana school I can't pull for is PUke.

Personally I want to see all Indiana teams succeed in basketball. (Obviously not Purdue). I love the fact that Indiana is a basketball state and when we had 7 teams in March Madness it was awesome. I have the same philosophy with the Big Ten during out of conference games. Root for the Big ten as it helps IU when they beat them.

I went to Vincennes and they are always top 25. In the juco, and when I was there we put a beat down on someone by 108 pts. They always have a good team and players and still do. Shawn Merion played there as well as Carl Landry. This is the only other basketball team I want to win, but I do attend Butler games because they are in the city.

I root for most of the Indiana teams as long as they are not playing IU. I have even rooted for PU before, although not very often. All depends on who they are playing. Its tough when you are watching two teams that you hate.
