I had seen a while back that Derek left Illiabum Clube in Portugal and looks like he is back in the States playing for the Indianapolis Diesels. He's not listed on the Roster yet. Anyone seen anything?

McCarthy did an interview with Derek last night and he's headed to England to play ball. Not sure what team yet.

That 2009 class was such a great foundation. Hulls and Watford made their mark, if only Derek and Mo had been healthier... Derek is one of a kind; that's no exaggeration.

I don't know the ins and outs of recruiting and NCAA regs but I would think it would be immensely helpful to have a former IU / CTC player available to talk to potential recruits when they are on our campus.  Recruiting regs seem to be so picky and maybe some of you can elaborate on what role, if any, Derek may be able to play in interacting with potential recruits.  Can he talk with them at all, and if so, under what conditions?

My understanding is he may interact with recruits on campus. Bot, no off. campus contact is allowed.

Tom Crean has always said he is the player that left one of the biggest gaps in maturity when leaving. Crean went on to say he connected leadership and youth playing the middle guy we lack now. Just get Hulls hired and that would be the icing on the cake.

Now this is a hire I can get behind----Elston is an INTENSE Hoosier.  He helped bring us back after our doldrums and knows a thing or two about honor, loyalty, leadership, and hard work.  From everything I have heard/read about Derek, paying a visit to Mr. Elston's office after a violation of team rules will not be a pleasant occasion.  Well done Crean!
