(2014) SF Devin Robinson to Florida

Recommended Posts

Hate to be "that guy," but it was said that IU were the clear leaders for Goodluck when Duke dropped off..... I really like IU's chances here better than GO's, but anything can happen.

Goodluck didn't have his friend and neighbor already committed to IU either.

Oh, I know every situation is different, I was just saying that people assumed we were leaders for GO. Noah was a good friend to GO as well. I really hope we get Devin, I just don't like getting too involved in recruiting.

Robinson just tweeted that he is leaving for Florida in the morning, just to confirm that he will not be canceling that visit.

The Gators are still alive in this race, don't count them out.

Welcome. Thanks for the info.

The heat just broke this week. It is absolutely beautiful down here.

Thanks goodness there isn't a home UF football game, and thank goodness no one in Gainesville gives a flying rat's behind about college basketball.

Yes it is.  I flew into Orlando yesterday.  I just drove down to Cape Coral to visit family.  Hard to get a job down here though.  You have to have a Florida drivers license for everything.  Hard to have that when you are trying to move into the area.  Oh well.  Back to Indiana for me in a few days to work in lovely Fort Wayne...

The weather is great now, going to be for 6 months!  If DD had come down 2 weeks ago he'd have turned around on the plane..

I think this may be out there by now, i can't remember if this was brought up on the old site.

The UCONN decline had been happening for a little while, though the fact that he dropped the visit was still a bit of a surprise. More surprisingly, OK St. was rumored to be in a very favorable position a few weeks ago. Sources found the interest a bit strange as well, but nontheless, it was there. When DR returned from OV to ND, OK St had staff at the airport to greet him. Initially, that was thought to be confirmation of how well OK St. sat w DR but since it has came out that the family may have been turned off by the tactic.

All this leads us back to IU, ND, and UF. The recruitment has been fairly tight lipped, so most would be a guessing game to predict where he is going. He is big on IU. He is big on ND and the staff has put in the most work in July. I saw this personally at the Reebok Classic Breakout. Crean attended Devin's last game, but Mike Brey was there all day. Thats one example, but have heard that snap shot is pretty accurate of how ND recruited Devin. Don't count them out because Devin noticed.

UF is the wild card. To me, they have a lot to offer him, and it is a lot different than what ND and IU are offering. Weather, PT, development at the position, coach with a history of cutting down the nets etc....It'll be interesting to see if UF makes enough of an impression this weekend.

fwiw. I meant to post this earlier, but got busy. Have no clue if it has any impact. DR took an OV here. And this thread was falling off the first page.

Mitch Solomon just committed to Oklahoma State, per a source. 6-10 big man that blew up in July.
