That's not what I heard on doctor radio. They also talked about the "studies" that suggested these times and that's when they brought up that none of these studies are being peer reviewed which is a big problem when talking about accurate info

@mamasa we're all glad to learn you're up, moving around and back to work but probably not nearly as happy as your wife is!

Serious request and that's to give us a Cliff's Notes of what you went through and a bit of a timeline.  Read all kinds of stuff but I'd like to hear it straight from someone to has actually experienced it.  Thanks in advance.

My coworker came into work sick on a Wednesday and by Saturday I had a little bit of a sore throat and some bodyaches. But I didn’t feel like I had a fever. By the end of Wednesday at work, I knew I was sick. My wife was out of town so I was kind of relying on my daughters to help me out. I legit couldn’t roll over, totally dehydrated (3days to drink a small Gatorade, no urination for 3 days). I was running 102+ fever, with head congestion- the drainage made nausea worse. I couldn’t get a breath- my daughter said she watched me sleep for 5 minutes until she could see my chest move. Burning in chest and started to cough each breath. No appetite at all (still none). I went to emergency clinic Sunday, they didn’t want to test me at first until I mentioned the weight loss and lack of urination. The doctor was really in a guessing game, prescribed inhaler, antibiotic, cough suppressant and anti nausea pills. I basically went between DayQuil and NyQuil for 2 weeks. I started getting lung function back maybe Friday, fever broke Friday night. Still really weak and tired, forcing liquids. All coworkers quarantined, wife and kids last day is today

Amazingly no! I kept to my room w Lysol 99% of the time. If girls brought me water, they just put it inside my door. Very lucky

I'll piggyback with another question --  any thoughts on how and where your co-worker contracted it and has he recovered?

His girlfriend works for doctor’s office but she’s just now showing symptoms. He’s an estimator and is in and out of houses all day. He also lives very near a casino and had been near it. His symptoms were not as long lived as mine- he’s back to regular life. But, it has to be him, as the other 2 in the office got same symptoms at same time I did.

Right.  that was a scientific lab study.  Doesn't deal with whether it's still infectious under those timeframes.

That’s actually exactly what they are doing. If they can measure the virus it is still infectious. That’s what the whole study was.

How are the rest of your co-workers? And do you know how long their symptoms lasted?

One is quarantined til Friday, the other until next Monday. Really no rhyme or reason as to how they determine the length. They’re pretty much on same timeline as I am w symptoms

Are physician offices deemed essential?

Very much so though its recommended that healthy people that are only getting a regular physical or elective procedures should hold off those appointments for the time being.

This is NY's definition of essential; what I'm going through right now. A lot of essential businesses aren't directly involved with medical intervention but to keep needed infrastructure running and to assist in keeping everyday life go as smooth as possible for those staying in quarantine.
