Men's Big Ten Tourney Thread: Predictions and Discussion

If anyone is attending, I highly recommend the new(ish) Taxman Brewing Co. Brewpub. It's a 5 minute walk, just South of Banker's Life (use East exit, onto Delaware). Great food and beer:

I just won tickets to Taxman’s Death & Taxes Festival 4/18!

Comes down to the final game. If Illinois wins the second round opponent would be Penn State.

If Iowa wins the second round opponent would be Ohio State.

I’m fine with either team. I hope Penn State though. They’re so vulnerable right now

That is correct. That’s what I paid on stub hub. Was able to snag floor level tickets row 18 for all day Thursday for $70. Paid roughly $80 for 6 B1G games...all lower level. That is insane!

IU drives attendance for this tourney and demand is down.

Nebraska may not be so undermanned after all.  This was from Hoiberg earlier today.

Fred Hoiberg told @HuskerSports that “we’ll make a decision in the next couple days” on whether Cam Mack and/or Dachon Burke will travel to Indy for the Big Ten Tournament.

LOL.  Hoiberg the convenient disciplinarian for 24 hours.  Cam Mack has been suspended multiple times already but never more than a game.  So I guess losing by 32 all of a sudden turned Mack's hit and run into a non-issue.

Do you have a link to this?  I'm not finding it anywhere.

Found it, although this article makes it sound very unlikely they will play.

The way the article reads makes it more sound like coach speak saying they are going to handle it in house.  My gut says neither player suits up ever again for Nebraska given that Hoiberg had suspended them "indefinitely" and immediately said that there would be player meetings at the end of the year about their future with the program.  That was the second straight game Mack had been suspended and they were for different reasons.

I fed the Nebraska and Indiana player numbers into PC Stellar computer game and simmed 20 games on neutral courts between the two.  I kept Burke and Mack on their team....will try simming some without them later.  Althought Hoiberg said that 'their status for the Big Ten tourney will be determined in the next two days', I am guessing they won't be playing from what he had said on Saturday.  Would find it hard to believe that Cam Mack would be suspended against Michigan and then Minnesota for DIFFERENT infractions and would then be playing in the Big Ten tourney.

Much written already about our draw being optimal given the circumstances. Also one thought I had, it’s really a benefit given our side of the bracket that we get to play evening games. Those noon and 2:30pm start times mid-week can be difficult to adjust to in this tourney. I like that we will be the last game of the day every day, for as long as we can stay in it.

Even when IU was #1 with Zeller/Dipo, there were empty seats in the stadium and you could get tickets cheap this close to the tournament.

Yes, some nosebleeds but it is worse now as IU is down down down.
