Through 6 innings in game #1 with our Hoosiers leading 7-5.   Bierman pitched 4 innings allowing all 5 runs on 6 hits.  He walked 3 and struck out 6.  Scott has pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits but no runs and has struck out 5.  Hoosiers batting in the top of the 7th.  We have a runner on second with 1 out.

Best game of the season so far. That was the ECU ace we pounded and they are a good team who does not lose at home often. At this point this program no longer rebuilds and just reloads and has built a winning culture last decade that other IU programs could learn from.

I am already really high on Hunter Jesse who looks like he could be a really good player for a few years here and this year gets to bat lower in lineup as Barr, Dunham and Richardson anchor it as expected.

Looks like Bierman, Sommer and Tucker have settled in just fine in starting rotation and Scott, Manous and Brown will be solid out of the pen. Should be another exciting year and we have already beaten three ranked teams on road now.

Our winning streak now 6 games with a 5-1 win over High Point.  Sommer pitched 8 strong innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits.  He struck out 5 and walked 2.  He allowed a leadoff double in the 9th and our third error of the game put runners on first and third and his third walk of the day loaded the bases and that brought Manous to the mound.  He gets the game ending out with a called third strike.

Hoosiers banged out 11 hits including Fucci's third double in 2 games and gets 2 RBI.  Dunham 1-2 with 2 RBI.  Tucci 2-4 on the day.  Richardson 3-4. Jessee 2-4.

3- game weekend wraps up tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. against Ole Miss.

Good game. We thought the pitching staff could be a weakness with all the personnel losses but Sommer, Bierman and Tucker have stepped right in and not missed a beat. I figured Bierman and Sommer would be good but not this good and its great to see.

Hopefully things keep going this well.

Platt pitched 2 innings allowing just 1 hit and striking out 3.  McCade Brown came on in the 7th and gave up 4 runs and 9-5 was the final score as our winning streak comes to an end.

On Wednesday night we host PUke for a single game and next weekend San Diego comes to Bloomington for a 4-game series.

To bad, but still an excellent weekend and to go 6-3 in this first part of schedule with three ranked road wins is really good. Tied it at one point but this is a loss I don't feel bad about given quality of Ole Miss and we were never really in game.
