• Jeff Mercer enters his second season at the helm of the Indiana baseball program after leading the Hoosiers to a Big Ten regular season title in 2019, earning him Big Ten Coach of the Year honors.

• Indiana won the program's seventh Big Ten regular season championship in 2019, posting an overall record of 37-23 and a conference mark of 17-7.

• Since the start of the 2008 season, Indiana leads the Big Ten in wins (421) and conference wins (178). The Hoosiers have made seven NCAA Regionals over that span, the most out of any current Big Ten team.
• For the sixth time in seven years, Indiana was selected to the 2019 NCAA Baseball Tournament field. The Hoosiers played in the Louisville Regional, earning a No. 2 seed for the second-consecutive season.
• A school-record 10 Hoosiers were selected in the 2019 MLB Draft, led by outfield Matt Gorski, who was selected in the second round (57th overall). Gorski was the highest-drafted Hoosier since Kyle Schwarber in 2014 (1st round, fourth overall).

Hoosiers take the opener 3-2.  We had 11 hits but did a lousy job of stringing them together as we left 12 runners on base.  Barr with a solo shot in the first inning.  Sommer pitched 5 complete innings giving up the 2 UT-Martin runs.  He allowed 4 hits; no BB and 4K.  Scott relieved and pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit and 1 BB.  He faced 8 batters and struck out 4 of them.  Connor Manous pitched the last 2 innings giving up 3 hits and a BB but no runs.  He faced 10 batters and struck out 5.  Bierman on the mound tomorrow at noon against South Alabama.

Fun weekend in Mobile. Not anything special from a town standpoint but its a really nice stadium and the Hoosiers played really well. Also with it being 60+ degrees I was able to drive 45 minutes to the ocean and lay on the beach for a couple hours and have the whole area to myself:).

Awesome time.
