(2021) C Logan Duncomb to Xavier

Recommended Posts

Moeller defeats Westlake (GA) 53-29 in a first round game in the Blue Star Invitational.  Duncomb with a very pedestrian evening only taking 3 shots and finishing with 4 pts. on 2-3 FG; didn't attempt a single FT; 2 reb; 1 asst; 2 blks; 1 TO.  He played 18 min. which was about 5 min. less than did the other Moeller starters but he only had 2 fouls so I'm not sure if he sustained an injury, wasn't feeling well or they just wanted to give him more rest for tomorrow's game.

Moeller wins the Blue Star Championship 53-33 over St. Andrew's Episcopal.  Moeller took an early lead and was never threatened.  Duncomb finished with 16 pts. on 7-15 FG; 2-5 FT; 9 reb; 4 asst; 3 blks; 2 stls; 2 TO.

Through 8 games this season he's averaging 14.6 ppg on 67% FG; 75% on 3s (only attempted 4);  69% FT; 8 reb; 3 assist; 1 blk; 1 stl; 2 TOs.

First game I've had a chance to watch Duncomb play.  Listed at 6'9" 225 lbs.  Runs the floor well and demonstrates pretty good agility.   Needs to add weight and muscle;  pretty typical for a high school junior.  Not overly explosive off the floor and got blocked twice by shorter players.  Never took a jump shot so that's an unknown.  Right handed but showed the ability to use his left around the basket and on the dribble a couple of times he had the ball at the top of the key.

Moeller with a 57-46 road win over Centerville.  Duncomb finished with 8 pts. on 4-8 FG; 0-1 on 3's; 0 FT; 7 reb; 3 asst.   He should have had a couple more assists as he made some really nice passes to open teammates who couldn't make the bucket.

In tonight's game, Duncomb had to play against an opponent of his height and weight so he wasn't able to dominate the inside as much.  His opponent wasn't as athletic or as agile, but kept his body on Duncomb most of the game and pushed him around pretty good.

I was at this game. Worth nothing duncomb played against Gabe Cupps, who’s only a freshman, but very highly touted since he’s a guard on Bronny James’ AAU team. Great environment. Duncomb is talented and sees the floor well.
