Quite honestly, I hope the offer is nothing but a rumor and if it originated from Van Zyl himself then I'm definitely not interested.

Disagree (hang with me here): I hope that the offer is real, and that it was made because Austin Van Zyl is a hidden diamond of a 6'5" great vision point guard that will be a fantastic fit for Indiana University.

I also hope that if the kid is lying, we drop any potential contact with him immediately; that part will probably take care of itself.

I guess the kid has even told Rivals in multiple phone calls today that he has an offer from IU. I’m guessing the kid isn’t making it up and Sam Story has bad info on this situation.

Wouldn't be the first time that Sam Story had bad info. Has anyone figured out who in the heck Sam Story even is?

OK then. Who is the guy? Is he just a random Joe looking for attention?

AAU coach I believe https://twitter.com/Samueltstory

He does hear some things but I think he hears pieces of stuff that is fluid and I don’t think he gets the absolutes accurate. Still if you follow for some occasional nuggets then he is good.

As of 10 min ago, he says IU has not contacted or recruited him and definitely no offer.

What am I missing?  His Twitter account earlier today said he is "blessed to have an offer from Indiana University."

I think he is referring to someone else saying that IU hadn't contacted Van Zyl or offer....believe he is saying that Sam Story said that.  I'm not finding anything that Story has tweeted about it, but The Daily Hoosier first reported that IU had offered Van Zyl and then put an update that said 'based on multiple conflicting sources, it is uncertain whether IU has actually issued a scholarship offer as claimed by the player in the official report'.

Thanks very much.  Been on the road and just perusing.   Appreciate that.
