Alford is down to two returning scholarships players for next year.  Should be fun!

Spoke too soon...now Alford is down to ONE returning scholarship player.  Only additional verbal/signed player(s) for next year is a JUCO wing who previously played at Akron.

Does this mean he'll get a pass for the next 3 seasons?

Kory Barnett has re-joined Alford at Nevada

Great move for Bil Duany. Bloomington kid (Bloomington North), who I had the pleasure to share some beverages and play pick up ball with throughout college. Interesting staff, but Craig Neal also had a nice run at New Mexico when he was at the helm. Looking at Neal and Alford together, they compiled a pretty nice record in their 8-9 years together.

If he hadn't just signed a new deal paying him nearly $5 million a year, I could see UM throwing a ton of money at Chris Beard. Maybe they'd still try -- he bolted UNLV not long after signing a deal there. ... Also wonder if they might try throwing big bucks at Tony Bennett. The thought about him has been that he doesn't want to be at a place where he'd be in a fish bowl -- and football always will be king in Ann Arbor.

Jay Wright?

After reaching two NCAA title games in the past few years, I don't see Michigan going small with this hire. I could be wrong, however (I often am), but I see them wanting to make a huge splash.

Even when UM was good before they never really went with the sexy hire, but one that fit their profile. I could see them making a run at LaVall Jordan if they are looking for continuity in style of play. He hasn’t done well at Butler, but I am not sure of the hire they get at this point. It was already a thin year for top coaching talents moving. If Marquette wasn’t primed for a top ten ranking I would say Wojo.
