Go Butler, Purdue, and Auburn! Xavier loss probably puts them out as an at-large. Minnesota loss drops them a bit. If they win, they are probably in. An Alabama loss and they are probably a last four team in.

I think if Utah State loses they would have work to do in their conference tourney. That Xavier at Butler game is interesting. Both seem to be outside looking in. If Xavier wins I’m not sure they’re in but it gets them closer and Butler would most likely be out. If Butler wins Xavier would have a lot of work to do in the tourney and Butler would be right on the bubble with work to do in their tourney.

Notable bubblicious games today
- #2 Virginia at Syracuse
- Texas at #8 Texas Tech
- #18 Kansas State at TCU

A couple of big opportunities for some bubble teams.

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

After a thrashing from the hands of Virginia, Syracuse moves from NET 39 to 42 while Virginia stays at NET 2.

Although TCU only lost by a dozen at home to Kansas State they move from NET 48 to 54, one spot ahead of IU. Kansas State moves up a spot to NET 27.

Texas went on the road and got throttled by Texas Tech but both teams remained the same. Texas at 33 and Texas Tech at 10.

Not sure, if Butler loses I think they’re out barring a run in the Big East tourney. If Xavier won and then lost in their first or second game in the Big East tourney I think they’re out too.

It would take Butler winning this game and making a serious run in the Big Easy tourney to have a chance. If Xavier wins this then they’re sitting pretty.

Butler gets the win to move to 16-14, sitting at NET 59. Xavier slides to 16-14, as well. They’re NET 70. I think it’ll take both making a run in the Big East tourney to punch their ticket to the dance.

I'm sure we can all figure out who is who, so this might not be the most "blind" it gets, but try the following blind resumes. Don't look it up if you don't know. Pick 4.  Heck, pick 3...

Team 1:

Net 61, 13-4 home, 4-6 road, 3-0 neutral, 6-4 Q1, 4-4 Q2, 10-2 Q3 and 4

Team 2:

Net 63, 9-4 home, 3-8 road, 4-0 neutral, 4-7 Q1, 6-3 Q2, 6-2 Q3 and 4

Team 3:

Net 55, 12-5 home, 2-9 road, 1-0 neutral, 6-9 Q1, 1-5 Q2, 8-0 Q3 and 4

Team 4:

Net 68, 13-3 home, 5-5 road, 2-1 neutral, 3-3 Q1, 7-2 Q2, 10-4 Q3 and 4

Team 5:

Net 57, 12-2 home, 7-5 road, 2-1 neutral, 1-6 Q1, 5-1 Q2, 15-1 Q3 and 4

Team 6:

Net 54, 12-5 home, 2-7 road, 4-0 neutral, 2-8 Q1, 5-4 Q2, 11-0 Q3 and 4

Records are after the game, NET is entering the day

Xavier loses at Butler all but eliminating them from the tourney without a deep Big East tourney run. I think Butler is in the same boat.
Xavier 16-14 (8-9) NET 70
Butler 16-14 (7-10) NET 59

Nebraska loses at Michigan State. Stick a fork in them. They’re done.
Nebraska 15-15 (5-14) NET 51

VCU almost doubles up George Mason on the road.
VCU 24-6 (15-2) NET 36

Minnesota gets a much needed win over the fight Carsen chuckers at home. They’ll play their final game of the regular season on the road at Maryland.
Minnesota 19-11 (9-10) NET 56

Ole Miss loses at home to the Cayuts to lose their 3rd straight (I believe) and are sinking fast. They play at Mizzou for their last regular season game. I don’t think they can afford to lose that one.
Ole Miss 19-11 (9-8) NET 37

Oklahoma go signature home win over a flailing Kansas. They’ll get another opportunity at K State over the weekend.
Oklahoma 19-11 (7-10) NET 41

Alabama gets beat at home by their rival Auburn after leading by double digits in the second half. They travel to play at Arkansas over the weekend. I don’t think they can afford to lose that one.
Alabama 17-13 (8-9) NET 53

Utah State gets it done in overtime at Colorado State to at least share the MWC regular season championship. If they lose before the championship game I think they’ll be sweating on selection Sunday.
Utah State 25-6 (15-3) NET 30

I’m not anywhere close to an expert and just going off of a few sites. I think it’s kind of fun to track these bubble teams as a way to predict what the committee might do.

good stuff.

Florida going down at home helps.

Seton Hall upsetting Marq didn't help.

Georgetown getting spanked helps.

NW up 10+ at half over OSU is good.

ISU went down too, but guessing that doesn't matter.

NCSt/GT early but close.

Seton Hall gets a solid upper quad 2 win against Marquette. They were squarely on the bubble so that’ll definitely help their chances. They’ll get another opportunity when they host Villanova over the weekend.

Florida goes down on a terrible last possession. They’re on the right side of the bubble but play their last game at coRUPPt arena.

It took Creighton overtime but they got the win. They’re on the outside looking in so they couldn’t afford a loss at home to Providence. They’ll host DePaul over the weekend. A game they’ll need to win.

Georgetown got spanked by DePaul. I don’t think they have a chance but they play at Marquette in their final regular season game.

Northwestern took care of a K. Wesson-less O$U at home. They were on the right side of the bubble coming into the game. They’ll get a chance at home against Wiscy. I doubt they get Wesson back.

Clemson didn’t make it easy but got by Notre Dame in South Bend. Clemson is squarely on the beach bubble too. Clemson plays their regular season finale at home to Syracuse.

N.C. State pooped the bed against Georgia Tech at home. They were on the right side of the bubble but this might push them out. They play at Boston College next.

Baylor laid an egg to a not so good OK State team at home. They’re in but that’s not a good loss. They play at Kansas this weekend.

Will update Oregon State and Washington tomorrow.

I used bracket matrix to determine a team’s position (in/out/on the bubble) I’m nowhere close to an expert but enjoy looking at where teams are and how they played. Hopefully we take care of business tomorrow!

Thanks and follow-up question!

Is the opponent's position within the NET rankings at the time you play them or where they sit at the end of the year what matters for quad classification?

It is where they end up at the end of the year....
