General IU basketball apathy may be setting in.  Game nearing the end of the 1st Q and we're just now getting a thread started.  Patberg in street clothes and considered day-to-day with her shoulder.  Yeaney picked up 2 fouls in the first 3 minutes of the game.  Grace Berger started in place of Patberg.

6 and half left in the 2nd Q and Yeaney goes down hard on her back/tailbone and takes her awhile to get back on her feet.  Don't think she'll play again at least the rest of this quarter.    MSU leading 25-21.

Made a liar out of me - Yeaney already back in the game.

Halftime and IU still trails 33-30.  Berger continues to play well with 10 pts, 3 reb. and 4 assts.  She does have 3 TOs.  Penn with 7 pts.; Royster with 5.  Gulbe with 4 reb and Wise with 3.   Outrebounded 22 - 19 but we've only committed 5 TO's as a team.  34% FG and 63% FT.

Sparty has a player that if you were watching a men's game would be referred to as a wide body.  However, I suppose using that term to describe a female player is considered sexist.  But you get the picture.

Just not enough firepower and don't think a healthy Ali Patberg would have made a difference in the overall outcome.  IU had no answer for MSU's Shay Colley who finished with 32 pts. in a 77 - 61 win for MSU.

IU led by 19 pts. from Penn who fouled out; Yeaney 12 and 10 from Berger.   Royster 7 reb; Wise 6; Gulbe & Penn each with 4.  38% FG; 35% on 3's and just 64% FT shooting 9-14.  After a solid first half, Berger didn't add anything to her stat line except 2 more TO's to finish with 5.  The team as a whole only had 11 for the game.

While you cant deny that it certainly would help to have our leading scorer..the numbers that stand out in most games us our assist/TO ratio compared to our opponents..and its not better with patberg in the game.. our guards all have abysmal ast/to.

Bendu - 55 ast 62 to

Patberg - 119 ast 80 to B1G play 60 ast 44 to

Penn - 29 ast 71 to

Berger - 44 ast 44 to

Warthen - 7 ast 14 to

Wise - 31 ast 33 to

Royster - 8 ast 40 to

Gulbe - 7 ast 30 to

Marchese - 3 ast 8 to
