I wish we pushed for Tshiebwe. He is an animal. Hurt is a phenom.

One of my favorites to watch this summer. While at warren central I sat by people from his AAU team and they said he was a heavy West Virginia lean. Huggins was on him early and Tshiebwe’s guardian was also the guardian of a current West Virginia player

They better check bumper sticker sales records from the 1980's; something smells fishy...

Corey Evans -

Is there a better definition for a blueblood target than Matt Hurt this summer? The top-five forward has been one of the more talked about and well-targeted prospects since he stepped onto a high school playing floor three years ago, and the interest has only increased in recent months.

For the second straight night, Duke’s Coach K, UNC’s Roy Williams, Memphis’ Penny Hardaway and Indiana's Archie Miller were in attendance to watch the super-skilled and more than above average shot-maker who can convert from each level on the court. However, those coaches were not alone, as Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota and Ohio State each dispatched an assistant coach of their own.

Where he will land is a total question mark. At one point in time, the best bet would have been Kansas or UNC, but it looks as if there is still some time to go before a clear-cut favorite emerges in the race for the uberly-talented prospect.

There doesn’t seem to be an end near for Trendon Watford when it comes to choosing a college to attend in the fall of 2019. One of the most versatile forwards in America, Watford told Rivals.com that he plans on waiting the college process out until the spring, a timetable that has been a consistent theme with most five-star prospects in recent time.

Down to a final eight, Watford was watched on Thursday by head coaches from  Indiana, Memphis along with assistants from Florida State, LSU, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Alabama and TCU.

No visits have been planned just yet, but Watford did say that once his July becomes complete that he would sit down and begin to schedule trips to a few of those on his list.

Much of the talk lately has centered around Memphis and the fact that he is playing for Mike Miller’s former travel program and alongside top Tigers targets James Wiseman and Chandler Lawson will not diffuse such talk. However, this recruitment is far from over, and Watford remains a priority for each of the eight involved.

Yep agreed. Wonder if that’s why he reopened his recruitment

Couple of observations from this weekend's NY2LA Summer Jam event.

Harlond Beverly – 2019 (REACH Legends 17u) - Beverly had one of his best performances of July and it just so happened to be in front of 100 plus division 1 coaches.  The top 50 national recruit put on a show in REACHs tough loss to Mac Irvin Fire as the lost in the final seconds.  He was hitting midrange jumpers from all over the floor, scored in transition well, and was setting his teammates up for easy buckets.  He has a host of high major offers as Michigan State, Texas, and Baylor are among the schools that stand out at this point.

Brandon Newman – 2019 (Nike Meanstreets 17u) - Newman had a breakout performance against Sizzle as he was virtually ungradable in the first half.  There wasn’t a spot on the floor that he did have confidence letting it fly from, was shooting off the bounce and off the catch, and finishing tough around the rim converting multiple and-1s.  Newman has offers from Indiana, Ohio State, Purdue, Florida State, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and many more high major programs.  He finished with 22 points in Meanstreets win.

Eric Bossi -

DUNCANVILLE, Texas -- It's the next to last day of the second live period and national basketball analyst Eric Bossi has made his way to Texas for the Great American Shootout. Follow along for all of the action and find out who is watching whom.

Drive Nation's stacked EYBL team found themselves in a deep hole against a tough Urban ASAK squad in front of a huge crowd of coaches. That's when Jahmius Ramsey and Drew Timmecame to the rescue.

Ramsey scored time and time again on drives to the hole while Timme used his size and skill to score at the rim. Timme ended up winning the game late on a drive in the waning seconds of overtime.

When I mention that the crowd of coaches was big it helps to paint the picture. I saw head coaches from Texas, SMU, Ohio State, Stephen F. Austin and Texas A&M along with assistants from Memphis, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Louisville, Colorado, Nebraska, Michigan, LSU, Butler, Oregon State, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Texas San Antonio, Colorado State, Baylor, Oral Roberts, Indiana, Arizona, TCU, Miami, UT Arlington and San Diego.

Both Timme and Ramsey said that they will be looking to cut their lists and set official visits after they finish their summers in Vegas next week.

Through Saturday at the Adidas Summer Championship.  The team with the Nike crossovers of Kira Lewis, Trendon Waford and James Wiseman did not survive pool play and they're out as is the EG10 from Indiana.

A special note that Tshiebwe's game with 23 rebounds --  15 of those were off the offensive glass!  He is a monster and from what I've seen, West Virginia's in the drivers seat for him.
