Ali Patberg- additional eligibility?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone else had heard about Ali being granted (or not yet being granted) an additional year of eligibility due to medical waiver?  I was talking with a friend whose daughter scrimmages with Ali a lot, he mentioned that he had heard it.  Jon Blau commented that he knew she'd applied for it but may not hear anything until her senior year, but then another person commented that it had been granted?  She missed her freshman year, played very sparingly her sophomore year.  iuhoosiers.com has her listed as RS Junior.

Have to be granted by her old school and the ncaa.

Moren has a similar situation with an old player..let's see if she grants the player or denies them eligibility. It's actually really messed up how these coaches have power.. even over former players at new schools

Good news!
https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2019/7/5/womens-basketball-ali-patberg-granted-sixth-year-of-eligibility-from-ncaa.aspx
Indiana guard Ali Patberg has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. She will now have two years of eligibility remaining with the women's basketball program.

Patberg, an All-Big Ten Second team honoree in 2018-19, will now be eligible to suit up for IU through the 2020-21 season. She led the team in scoring last season with 15.8 points per game and a team-high 4.8 assists per contest to help Indiana to the NCAA Tournament Second Round and a 21-13 overall record. She scored in double figures in 25 games and was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll three times. In addition, Patberg excels in the classroom as she was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District and was named an Academic All-Big Ten honoree last season.

The Columbus, Ind. native transferred to IU from Notre Dame in 2017 where she missed her freshman season (2015-16) with an injury and played in 22 games as a sophomore (2016-17).

Awesome!
