How in the world did an expansion team make the Stanley Cup

Recommended Posts

Lol.  Parity in the NHL is real.  Much harder for a single star to get his team to win constantly.   Most teams run 4 lines.  Stars only play about 1/3 of the game.

Hustle and grit make up for a lot in the win column.  As well as chemistry.  Add to that a goalie that is in the zone, crazy things happen in hockey.

They were also given the gift that the league allowed teams to freeze a lower quantity of players.  This allowed them a larger pool of talent to choose from and gain a competitive advantage versus other expansion teams.  Kind of an unfair deal for all of the NHL if you ask me.
