IU Athletics Facilities Photo Thread

IU is spending about $65 million on the SEZ complex and new volleyball/wrestling arena. Purdue spent the same amount on their football facility. It’s not like IU doesn’t have the money for elite football facilities. The university CHOOSES to spend it elsewhere.

Question :  Since 2004, IU will have spent > $100 million on their football facilities, including the newest upgrade which will make their stadium among the most modern in the Big Ten.    What are you referring to?

IU is the only school in the Big Ten without a football only facility. The NEZ and SEZ complexes are SHARED facilities. This fact is not lost on other programs when going up against IU in recruiting. If the school wants to win in football, then it needs to do the things necessary to build a winning program. Not having the worst football facilities in the Big Ten would be a nice start.

The basketball program pays for the athletic budget at Indiana, and is one of the most financially valuable entities in college sports.  Indiana is hurt far more by the division they play in than they are facilities.  They have more technology than most, and they have invested a ton in football facilities recently.  Indiana's recruiting continues to improve, especially in atate and in the south.  While a football only facility would be nice, what they're building and what they have appear to be working just fine.  Make no mistake, football will never be the driver at Indiana.

I agree with you on this. Focus on men's basketball and football, and make sure that they have state of the art everything. They're the two most important programs at basically every P5 school in the country. Worry about the other sports once those two are taken care of.
