WBB vs Minnesota 2/20 @ 8pm

Recommended Posts

The Hoosiers travel to the land of ice and snow (sorry, listening to a little Zeppelin this morning) to take on the rabid gophers of Minnesota this evening.  No TV (except the evil BTN+).

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana begins a two-game road swing to wrap up conference play beginning at Minnesota on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET inside Williams Arena with live coverage on BTN Plus.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN GOPHERS
Minnesota will host Senior Night on a four-game win streak after back-to-back top 25 wins in No. 23 Michigan on Wednesday and No. 10 Maryland on Sunday. They are led by sophomore guard Kenisha Bell (19.7 ppg., 6.5 apg., 2.6 spg.) and senior guard Carlie Wagner (17.6 ppg.). Freshman forward Destiny Pitts leads in rebounds while also putting up double figures for the Golden Gophers (13.2 ppg., 7.6 rpg.). Minnesota is averaging a Big Ten high 85.5 points per game and shooting 44.0 percent from the floor.

SEVEN-STRAIGHT
The Hoosiers picked up their seventh-consecutive win on Saturday in an 83-75 triumph over second-place Nebraska. It marked the longest win streak in Big Ten play since 1982-83 when IU won eight-in-a-row. It also ties the second-longest streak under head coach Teri Moren, who's program in 2016-17 won seven-straight games from Dec. 6-Dec. 31, 2016.

STATS IN THE STREAK
Through its seven-game win streak, Indiana has averaged 69.3 points and shot 44.5 percent from the field. Buss leads the way with 23.4 points and 4.7 assists while Cahill contributes 17.4 points and shooting 48.8 percent from the floor and 90 percent from the free throw line to go along with 8.1 rebounds. Freshman guard Jaelynn Penn (10.7 ppg.) and junior forward Kym Royster (10.3) each have averaged double digits.

MORE RECORDS TO BREAK
With records set in points scored, free throws made, free throws attempted, and steals, Buss will set her sights on the assist records at Indiana. Currently, Buss ranks second in assists (526) behind Tisha Hill's 533 career dishes. Buss is also registering on the all-time 3-pointers made list, coming in fourth (182) and second in attempts (579).

CAHILL MAKES HER MARK
Senior Amanda Cahill set another career milestone against Wisconsin on Jan. 24, as she grabbed her 1,000th rebound. She became the third player to record 1,000 rebounds along with Denise Jackson (1,273) and Whitney Thomas (1,090) to reach the career milestone. She's just the second-ever player to record over 1,700 points and 1,000 rebounds. She ranks seventh all-time in scoring (1,722), third all-time in rebounds (1,042), third in all-time double-doubles (39) and seventh in blocks (121). She is also seventh amongst all active Division I players in rebounds.
