Calm down, Rob played some fantastic defense and ripped in 21(?) points with some very difficult shots to keep us hanging around. Other than a turnover and a head scratching scoop shot (which he is usually good with), he played a fantastic game.

I'm surprised Moore didn't get a chance. It really makes me think CAM doesn't really have plans for him in the future. This is a game I just don't see how it would have hurt to at least try him. Haas was eating us alive regardless.

I think it’s a strength thing with Moore. Haas would have ate his lunch.

When I think a player can't have a lower IQ than Newkirk, I watch Green.  When I think a player can't have a lower IQ than Green, Newkirk does something mind boggling.

It's like one does something infuriatingly stupid, and the other says 'I can top that'.

Neither have been given much chance in game action. Moore got some lengthy blocks in his limited time.

My point is more that Haas controlled the entire game without resistance. We had 2 other big guys we could have thrown at him to see them compete, even for a couple possessions. But as it went, we let Haas dictate everything all game including the result.

All in all, I'm not upset with this loss. The boys fought hard all game long. They played well on defense. We were just outmatched. I'm not one for moral victories, but that's the kind of year this is. Better days are coming. Having a true point guard next year will be very nice.

Fresman mistakes from a freshman is easier to handle than freshman mistakes from a 5th year senior.  Although calling some of Newkirk's screw ups "fresman mistakes" would be an insult to freshmen.

Meanwhile, Purdue set a program record by winning their 17th straight game, and will likely keep that going for awhile.

Great game. The hall was great, Rojo played great, Archie coached great. Disappointed with the loss, but excited for the future.

One of these days, justin smith is gonna actually finish a monster jam on an opposing team and the hall might collapse

I'm not throwing everything at him, he did have a great game, but seniors are supposed to be the rock at the end of games and unfortunately ours didn't close out.

As mentioned before there is an upside to players that will remain next year and there definitely needs to be some house cleaning done. I think with the experience we will have in our upper class guys and the strength of the freshman, we should be much harder to deal with next season.

I know we are all disappointed. I Absolutely HATE losing to Purdue but a couple points: 1) This is a good Purdue team —maybe the best they have ever had—and we played them toe to toe. This is not one of the better Indiana teams and we played about as good as we can today. 2) I found myself watching our defense which was superb at times and I was imagining it once we get Archie’s players here. Length will make a lot of difference—especially on defense —rebounding—and rim protection. As disappointed as I am by the loss to our rival—I remain excited and optimistic about the future of IU basketball...Go Hoosiers! Still rather be a Hoosier than a Boiler any day of the week!

Yes, our senior guards made some bad turnovers down the stretch. Though, if I’m giving out game balls, I’m giving mine to Robert Johnson. He was excellent tonight. I’m also giving one to McSwain. That’s a guy we all here have been very hard on. He played Hass VERY hard. The giant was visibly upset by the energy level Freddie brought to him. That effort is what this rivalry is all about. I thought everybody played very well. The second half was where their talent overtook ours. Purdue had Robert and Juwan to guard and nobody else. Indiana had to guard everyone. Nobody else really stepped up. Justin had 6 rebs in half 1 and none in half 2. Zach didn’t attempt a shot in half 2. We just were over matched but it didn’t look like it. As I was watching, I didn’t feel like IU was the inferior team. Makes me excited for next season.
