Geesh. Bad day today it appears but I didn't see anything other than a few twitter posts. Glad its spring and game means nothing and we looked good in the other games so far and can chalk this up to a fluke.

Schedule out.

The Hoosiers' 2018 slate is one of the most difficult schedules in the country, featuring matches against 10 NCAA Tournament teams from last season and nine squads who finished in the top-25 or were receiving votes in the final United Soccer Coaches poll.

A staggering 15 of Indiana's 17 regular-season opponents finished in the top-100 of the 2017 NCAA RPI, including 12 in the top-50 and eight in the top-20. The slate features five teams who reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2017 and three who advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.

Wow! We always play a challenging schedule but this takes it to a whole different level. We have 5 teams who are every bit as good as we are (at Wake, at UNC, at ND, Maryland, MSU), 5 teams only slightly worse and extremely formidable (Dartmouth, VCU, at UK, at Mich, Butler) and 7 teams who are not great but will still challenge you (UConn, at Wisconsin, at Evansville, NW, PSU, at Rutgers, at OSU). I am aware in that last group Wisconsin was good last year but their entire team graduated so I think they will see a huge drop off. Everyone else who we play returns a good part of their teams from last year so I would expect them to be similarly good or bad.

Glad we have an elite veteran team that will be able to handle this schedule.

@csoccernews: Top Two Players in the Top Four Men’s Soccer Conferences Heading into the 2018 Season. https://collegesoccernews.com/index.php/articles/1167-top-two-players-in-every-position-in-the-top-four-men-s-college-soccer-conferences-by-dela-agbotse

Forwards:

Griffin Dorsey (Indiana) - Look for the Hoosier sophomore who tallied three goals and contributed six assists last year to play an even greater role in a possesion oriented Indiana offense in 2018.  The Hoosiers will enter the 2018 season as the team to beat in the Big Ten. The sky is the limit for Indiana in 2018 if everything falls into place.

Midfielders:

Francesco Moore (Indiana) - Indiana was reliant on the midfielder to bring calm and balance to the 2017 team, an attribute which was key in helping the Hoosiers to an impressive season during which they won eighteen contests and advanced to the National Championship match.  Not to mention, he scored three goals and notched three assists in the process.  Look for the 2017 First-Team All-Big Ten selection who has been a starter for the past three years to have a banner season in 2018.

Defenders:

Andrew Gutman (Indiana) - He was part of a resolute defense for indiana in 2017 that gave up only seven goals all year.  The All-American added an impressive seven goals and four assists from his defensive position. The versatile and tenacious defender has proven himself to be equally adept at right-back or midfield for the Hoosiers.

Goalkeepers:

Trey Muse (Indiana)  -  Muse's performance last year was amazing particulaly when you consider that he was only a freshman. The young stopper recorded an impressive 0.26 goals against average with sixty-five saves and eighteen shutouts. His speed off his line and agility are the base from which indiana’s attack begins.

Three Hoosiers Earn Invite to USMNT U-20 Camp

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University men's soccer's Griffin Dorsey, Trey Muse and Justin Rennicks were all invited to the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team camp July 15-22 in Raleigh, N.C., head coach Tab Ramos announced.

IU is the only university in the nation to have three players selected for the 20-player camp, which is the program's fourth activity this cycle that began with the first-ever U.S. Soccer Men's YNT Summit in January.

Rennicks has participated in all four activities for the U-20 squad this year – the 12-day camp in May with matches against Honduras, the training camp in Spain in March and the U.S. Soccer Men's YNT Summit Camp this past January in Florida.

Both Dorsey and Muse have also had experience with the U-20 teams, as they also participated in the U.S. Soccer Men's YNT Summit Camp in January. The duo also has experience with the USMNT U-18 squad.

Muse had one of the best single-season goalkeeping years in NCAA history in 2017, leading the country in shutouts (18), goals-against average (.260), save percentage (0.903) and goalie minutes played (2416:18). The Louisville, Ky. native was named a First-Team Freshman All-American by Top Drawer Soccer, Second-Team All-Big Ten and to the Big Ten All-Freshman team.

Dorsey had a memorable first year for Indiana as well, earning Second-Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors. The Evergreen, Colo. native scored three goals and tallied six assists on the season, starting all 23 matches in which he appeared for the Hoosiers.

Limited due to injury for most of his freshman season in 2017, Rennicks appeared in nine matches at the end of the year, tallying an assist in the team's 4-0 victory over Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.
