We are absolutely being killed by Toye's injury and Hyacinth up top and announcers have referenced it. This is exactly the problem we had last year in these situations against great teams. That tie at home against UM is gonna kill us potentially as we are better than them. Despite Maryland's struggles IU, MSU and Maryland all look top 10 and legit national title contenders. Michigan a cut below.

On BTN need Michigan Maryland to stay tied.

In terms of the actual result this was not a bad tie at all and on the level of teams we will play in sweet 16 and elite 8. Doubt our 2 seed is affected at all for NCAA's given we tied the 5 seed on road. This MSU team is special (along with ND and Maryland) and a true title contender. They actual play D with normal numbers and generate attacks because of it. Wiscy is not our level at all and we didn't play as well as we could but lucked out. Thought we played our best game today against an equally matched team just like we did against Maryland. Also moved our SOS from 50's to 30's which is huge and left RPI at 5.

More importantly locked up at least the 3 seed and avoid that annoying Wiscy team in 1st round of Big Ten Tourney. A Maryland OSU tie gives us the 1 against the winner of the awful NW, Rutgers game. If one of these teams playing now wins we get 3 and face a massively struggling OSU team.

St. Clair is an animal in goal for Maryland as he was against us and keeping game tied. Him and Muse far and away the most talented goalies in Big Ten. 

Francis Atuahene is maybe best forward in conf for Michigan but don't have quite the elite quality at the other positions IU, Maryland and MSU do. Michigan is basically Wisconsin with a slightly better D but not a national title contender like IU, Maryland and MSU.

St. Clair with a couple more brilliant saves and we head to OT. Need this to hold scoreless for 20 more minutes. Looks like Maryland playing for tie knowing they share conference title if result holds. Michigan pressing forward for winner but Maryland D and especially St. Clair as mentioned up to task.

I knew that Michigan tie was going to kill us at time. That and the Wisconsin game (which we won) were the 2 games I don't think we put our best foot forward. Ironically Michigan is the 4th best team in the Big Ten but still won title because margin in soccer is so thin. Like a loss to an inferior OSU team in 2015 cost us title this time it was Michigan game.

In terms of Big Ten tourney playing PSU instead of NW makes 0 difference. Both are offensively challenged park the bus teams who would of been problem last year but we have successfully broken down this year. It sucks we missed Big Ten Title again but we did this to ourselves with Michigan performance. We will almost certainly rematch MSU Friday in Big Ten Tourney assuming we win Sunday. Very happy second part of tourney is in Indy again and will attend any games we are playing there since I live very close to Grand Park.
