Catching punts inside the 10

Can someone please explain to me why our punt returners field punts that close to the end zone? Harris caught one on the 2 against Virginia and didn't even want to return it. We caught another on the 7 today and I think had a short return. Then against Michigan we saw a kick caught out of bounds at the 13. Does our special teams coach have a brain? I've seen high school teams smart enough not to do this crap.

This definitely deserves its own thread. It’s absolutely idiotic to field punts inside the 10 yard line. It’s almost as dumb as Kyrie Irving saying the earth is flat

We have done it a number of times this year so it's not a fluke incident.  Very hard to explain. I also tried to look up our special teams coach and couldn't find him. is this Allen's call?  completely inept on special teams.

The sad thing is that I think coach Allen is in charge of special teams too...
