#IUMS - 2017 Adidas/IU Credit Union Classic

Recommended Posts

Fast freshman create a goal again. Gutman beat everyone down left side (yes I know he's not a frosh) and found Ware streaking who gave it back to Gutman for the goal. Thats the type of scoring opportunity u can produce with the much faster Warr, Toye and Dorsey running out front but had zero chance of creating with Hyacenth running at striker last year.

This USF team is very similar to every Butler team of the last few years. Leaky defense but extremely dangerous fast forwards who try to outrun you by taking balls over the top. So far our D up to task but Muse has been called into action in goal a few times but looked good which i'm glad to see. Both Butler (who i watched in 1st game) and USF borderline top 25 tourney teams on their speedy forwards alone which make them some of the better non conf teams we will play. 1-0 IU at half.

Not best turnout on student side but main side bleacher almost completely full. Maybe 3.500-4,000 in attendance. To compare to Butler game there were 6 kids playing soccer in the grass at halftime. IU game has at least 60. LOL

Haven't got to see the team yet. Looks like offense has been fixed. Has the defense taken a step back or is it still a force?

We've given up 1 goal in 4 games so it looks very good. Big difference is we've scores 11 as oppose to 6 in first 4 full games last year. This yr avg. 2.75 goals a game and giving up .25. Those number if they keep up make up numbers of legit natl championship contender. We've had the d last few yrs but finally have the o to go with it thanks to our new stud freshmen. Excited to see what this year brings.

By the way Hyacinth puts game away on a made header off a cross into box. He's so much better as a part time backup and even looks better this year even though his speed is still an issue.
