In the opening game of the regular season in the Hoosier Challenge Cup, the ladies defeated Cal Poly 3-1.  Goals by Maya Piper, Meghan Scott and Annelie Leitner.  Freshman Bethany Kopel in goal only had to face 4 shots on goal of the 7 shots Cal Poly managed to take.  The lone Cal Poly goal coming at 86" on a penalty kick.  Lady Hoosiers got off 21 total shots; 9 of which on goal. 

Next game is Sunday at 1:30 p.m. vs. #13 ranked Clemson.

#13 Clemson (2-0) in a 1-0 win over the Lady Hoosiers (1-1) scoring the lone goal at 31".    Stats are scarce.  Clemson with only 5 shots; 2 on goal.  IU with only 6 shots; 3 on goal.    Next up is a Thursday evening visit from Louisville.

The Lady Hoosiers fall to 1-2 on the new season with a 2-0 loss to the Louisville Cardinals (3-0).  Our ladies had 10 total shots;  only 2 of which on goal.  The Cardinals had 18 total shots; 8 on goal.

The ladies now start a 7-game road trip and will not play again in Bloomington until Sept. 23.  Next up is a visit on the 27th to Kalamazoo, MI to take on Western Michigan.

The Chandra Davidson and Maya Piper show in Kalamazoo, MI today as the Lady Hoosiers take the win by a score of 4-0 and even their record on the season at 2-2.   Chandra Davidson with goals at 53" and 87" and Maya Piper with goals at 61" and 80".  For the game, the Lady Hoosiers got off 25 shots with 16 on goal.  They held the Broncos to 11 shots with only 3 on goal with Bethany Kopel  guarding the net.

 Next up is a Labor Day Weekend trip to Nashville, TN for the Music City Tournament.  On Friday evening at 8:30 they'll face Vanderbilt and then Sunday at 1:00 p.m. they'll take on Memphis.

Lady Hoosiers with a goal from Maya Piper (4th of the season) at 79’ from a corner kick by Meghan Scott and an assist from Mykayla Brown take a 1-0 victory over #23 ranked SMU and move to 4-3 on the season.  IU with 9 total shots; 3 on goal.   SMU with 12 total shots; 4 on goal.  

Room for improvement as the IU Ladies were whistled for 13 fouls and committed 8 offside penalties.

Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET, the Lady Hoosiers take on North Texas and then open the B1G season on the 14th in East Lansing.

In double OT, the Lady Hoosiers end in a 3-3 tie with North Texas and move to 4-3-1 on the season.

With just 50 seconds remaining in the game, Mykayla Brown tied it up at 3-3 on a pass from Maya Piper.  Lady Hoosiers led 2-1 at halftime.  Their first goal coming from Abby Allen, her first career goal as a Hoosier.  Their second goal was from Meghan Scott who buried a free kick.

B1G season opens next Thursday evening in East Lansing followed by a Sunday afternoon match against Michigan in Ann Arbor.  Following their State of Michigan road trip, they return home to take on PUke on Saturday the 23rd.
