(2018) SG Nate Hinton

I'm not sure what to make of this.

Indiana, PSU, UMass, VCU, VA Tech & Wichita State offered 2018 Gaston Day (NC) G Nate Hinton.

Hinton is a 3-star 6'4" SG out of Gastonia, NC.   Not an impressive ranking or list of offers.  Plays AAU ball for Team Loaded on the Adidas circuit.

Don't know where the info came from but Osterman, Alex B. & Rabjohns all tweeted out he got an IU offer which now appears to be inaccurate information.  If we get solid confirmation there is no IU offer, I'll delete this thread.

In terms of what Archie's been targetting thus far, my initial reaction to the news was that Hinton is pretty far down on the wish list.  Here's his 2017 AAU stats.

13 points 10 reb 4 assists

23 points 9 reb 4 assists

24 points 9 reb 4 assists

is pretty impressive for a set of three games, and that's with a very high shooting %

He's kinda like Jericole Hellums in that his total AAU stats don't look like much, but his July stats are through the roof. He's shooting a higher % and has more rebounds and assists than Hellums by the way.

Evan Daniels says that Hinton and consensus #4 overall Charles Bassey were the two best players in the Adidas Gauntlet. That's pretty serious high praise:

Sounds like Hinton is a better player. And I like Henry a lot. We would likely have room for both eventually.

Also, that highlight video was only one game but I am impressed. Definitely looks like he's 6'6. Very fluid and skilled for that length.

I'll be honest. I kind of like him. Predicting rankings to rise here. Not necessarily if he is our replacement for Romeo but he looks good to me.
