#IUWBB To Take Foreign Tour Of Italy August 2-11

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.  – Indiana Women's Basketball has announced the 2017-18 roster will take a foreign tour to Italy August 2-11.

"We are so excited to give our team this opportunity to play international competition and to see a new part of the world," Indiana head coach Teri Moren said. "This is a going to be a tremendous team builder for our players and staff and we are looking forward to departing in August."

The team's trip will begin on August 2 with a flight from Indianapolis to Rome where the team will begin its tour. During its trip, the Hoosiers will visit Italian cities including Rome, Vatican City, Florence, Pisa and Venice. They will play three games against Italian opponents during the trip and will conclude with a flight back to the United States on August 11.

The NCAA allows teams to take a foreign tour once every four years. Previously, the Hoosiers toured Italy in 2009 as the program's only other foreign trip. Indiana is allotted 10 practice days leading up to the trip, which will begin in July.

Indiana is coming off a record-breaking season where it recorded a new single season record 23 wins and advanced to the WNIT quarterfinals. Seniors Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill are set to begin their final seasons in cream and crimson in 2017-18 and welcome seven newcomers to the roster including five freshmen.

Provides a good opportunity to introduce the freshmen to college level basketball.

FINAL: #iuwbb defeats KZKSU Radnicki, 76-26, in game one of #IUtaly!

Don't know if any box score will get posted or not but even if it is, it won't be particularly meaningful given that the level of competition was somewhat less than challenging.
