IU golf course renovation

I know this has been a big point of discussion for many years on here and in Bloomington, so I thought I would share this. Steve Smyers will be the architect for the upcoming renovation of the course. The project will go to the Board of Trustees later this month, and construction will begin in the fall. The project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2019. The last info I saw estimated that the cost would be $11 million.

The new wrestling/volleyball arena by Cook Hall will also break ground this fall. The final project of the campaign, a renovation to Armstrong Stadium for soccer, is still awaiting a major gift.

Project approval for the golf course will be submitted to the board of trustees next week. Cost has been bumped up to $12 million. The final design approval will likely be submitted at the next meeting after this one:

This is great!! The old course was in terrible shape and wasn't that challenging. Hopefully the new course will be worthy of a weekend stay in Btown for a round or two.
