2017 IU Men's Soccer Schedule

The No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer team defeated the Xavier Musketeers, 3-1, in an exhibition match on Monday night in Bloomington, Ind.
 
Scoring goals for the Hoosiers were Josh Lipe-Melton, Timmy Mehl and Thomas Warr, while Austin Panchot, Trevor Swartz and Griffin Dorsey all notched assists for IU. In goal, freshmen Drew Nuelle and Jacob Gruber combined to limit the Musketeers to one goal with one save.
 
The two teams played a three-period exhibition match, with the first period lasting 30 minutes and the final two 45 minutes each.
 
In the first period against Xavier, the Hoosiers took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Lipe-Melton. The senior's right-footed shot beat the XU goalkeeper to the top-left corner from 12-yards out.
 
In the second period, Indiana doubled the lead over the Musketeers off a set-piece goal from Mehl, who buried his shot from five-yards out to the right post.
 
In the third period, the freshmen duo of Warr and Dorsey connected on the third and final goal for the Hoosiers, as Warr redirected Dorsey's effort in to the back of the net.
 
The No. 7-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will be back in action on Thursday, Aug. 19 when the team faces No. 9 Louisville in an exhibition match in the Shindigz National Soccer Festival at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Four National TV Matches Highlight Men’s Soccer’s 2017 Broadcast Slate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will have four matches on national TV in 2017 as part of the broadcast schedule released by the Big Ten.
 
Indiana's matches against Maryland (Sept. 8, 7:00 p.m. ET), Michigan (Sept. 13, 7:30 p.m. ET) and Notre Dame (Sept. 26, 7:00 p.m. ET) will all be broadcast across the country on the Big Ten Network, while IU's contest against Michigan State on Oct. 29 at 3:00 p.m. ET will be broadcast on ESPNU.
 
Along with the four national TV matches, IU's remaining home slate consisting of eight contests will all be streamed live on BTN Plus. BTN Plus is a web-only streaming service that is available for a small monthly fee. For more information and to subscribe, click here.
 
The No. 5 Hoosiers will open the 2017 regular season on the road in South Bend, Ind. at the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament. IU will face Cal Poly on Friday, Aug. 25 at 5:00 p.m. ET before taking on San Diego on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 11:30 a.m. ET.
