Saturday recap for Musa Jallow at the NY2LA event.

Musa Jallow – 2018 – SF – Team Blaze Select
Putting together a dominating performance, Jallow helped Team Blaze Select gain an impressive win over the REACH Legends. Jallow seemed to do whatever he pleased Saturday night, throwing down some big jams, blocking shots, and hitting contested jumpers. Jallow was a blistering 9-of-10 from the field en route to a game-high 21 points. He added six rebounds and a block as well. An all-around prospect that just gets things done game in and game out, Jallow is putting together a nice weekend in Minneapolis.

Final wrap-up for the Nike EYBL weekend event in Indpls.  Next event May 12-14, in Atlanta.  Most of the kids have stats for 8 games so we can start to get a better read on their overall level of performance.  FWIW - My personal observations on some of the prospects.

Brooks - consistent scorer; good FT shooter.

Carey - consistent scorer with a good shooting %.

Dosunumu - Don't know if we're really looking at him or not, but he's a very good shooter.

Garland - Sign him up!

King - Consistent scorer and good FT shooter.

Stewart - Strong rebounder.

Swider - Consistent scorer.

Wiseman - Pretty consistent rebounder.

Musa should be our number one target. The kid is from Bloomington, that would be a huge black eye if he goes somewhere else

I love Musa as a player and hope we land him. I personally hope we land at least one of Garland or Brooks as our top targets.

Virginia will be in the running to the end of this recruitment and in my opinion are the favorites to land him. Having a coaching change mid recruitment with a player that is all about comfort level would be concerns. Musa is a very loyal kid. He turned down the Nike tour at end of last year to stay with his local AAU team. He has a great relationship with Tony Bennett. CAM and staff are going to have to play catch up but the good news is they will have time. In my opinion Musa will go to one of these 2 schools

I keep hearing "best young coach under forty", "Miller has put together the best cast of assistants and strength and conditioning coaches in the country", "Miller just gets it", "inside out", "we have tons of scholarships and playing time to offer in '18 & '19" etc etc but then when it comes to expectations or confidence in us landing these top prospects from Indiana, all I keep hearing is how other teams have the inside track and little confidence we land these guys. This is why we brought him in. If we don't land at least a few of these top 100 kids from Indiana then why did we make a move? He has to win over guys like jallow, phinisee, Langford etc. and I think the top 50 kid that lives down the street is the most important kid for us in telling other coaches "don't waste your time on kids in our backyard" if Bennett maintains a better relationship with a kid that lives in Bloomington than our staff then I don't know what to say

I don't really disagree, but I think part of that sentiment from people comes from the fact these other top coaches have been building relationships with recruits for a long time now while Archie has only been at it for a few weeks. I fully expect him to bring in a solid 2018 class, but I think 2019 is when he starts consistently bringing in top 10 classes.

Brooks is 19

Yes, but the amount of time we go at players over the next couple of classes is where I was going with that. I know many want the time to go into Langford. If we are strictly speaking '18 I would say for sure Musa would be top 5. I want Garland getting the most attention as it will be a critical need filled with high end talent. Phinisee is another I want to see here. We have so many needs after this coming season its hard to say where the attention should go honestly.

Today from Josh Margois - Inside The Hall on Darius Garland

http://www.insidethehall.com/2017/04/30/darius-garland-dominating-his-second-year-on-eybl-circuit/

Through seven EYBL games, Garland ranks 17th in scoring (18.6 ppg), fifth in assists (6.0 apg) while shooting 57 percent from the floor and 89 percent from the line.

Love hearing CAM and Garland talk every day. This would be a BIG fish to land and it looks like we have a real shot. A guy like Garland would make us really attractive for other players like Langford and Brooks. Crossing my fingers here.
