This is a good link that has all the transfers so far: http://www.verbalcommits.com/transfers/2017

Looked at PGs in that list. Only two who'd be immediately eligible even look statistically decent, Daniel III from Howard, and Jiggets from Farleigh Dickinson. Both averaged double digits in scoring and 4+ APG (Daniel of played two games though), but both averaged more turnovers than Newkirk (who averaged 2.2/game).

So far the bigger shocks are the kids going without agents, Jarett Allen, John Collins are the big two that jump out to me.

It's a deep draft. If Allen comes back he could possibly be top 10 in next years draft. This year he might not even be top 20.

It's crazy how Melo Trimble has fallen out of favor with NBA teams since the end of his freshman year.. I was listening to local sports talk in Baltimore on the way to work this morning and they were absolutely railing on him for leaving. I don't necessarily think another year in College Park would change his draft stock that much, although what's he got to lose at this point?

This is a case of a guy who should have left after his freshman season.

He's also fallen out of favor with a lot of UMD fans. I was listening to 105.7 about a month ago and they were discussing if Melo should declare because he's worn out his welcome?!?!

Besides the dreaded head flop, what has he done to piss of the fan base so much?

I don't really know. Not being a UMD fan or fan of any of the local teams I don't typically pay attention to the local stuff, but this one time I tuned in they were talking about it. Just guessing, but I think it's because his play has kind of plateaued the last two seasons and they haven't really made a move in terms of league or tournament success.

I also think the fans are really excited for their freshmen class this past season and may want the backcourt keys handed to Cowan.

I think it is the fan base listening to the media on how good he is. So maybe that has disappointed them? Personally, I thought Melo was the next Trey Burke. But he hasn't seemed to be able to make any sort of jump. The talent is there. He is bigger than Burke as well. He always has a super pretty jump shot and a snap of a release. I think they are just upset he isn't as good as the media makes him out to be.

Never understood the Melo hype every season. He's a great pick n roll lead guard. I don't think he was elite at anything else besides snapping his own neck. Good, not great, player.
