Class of '66 Old Fart

(2018) SF - Jerome Hunter to IU

Recommended Posts

Some of those kids guarding him were like 6' tall and about 140 lbs. One example of why college ball is such a big adjustment for even highly ranked recruits.

HahAha noticed that too. He just drove to basket every time. I’m big on hunter fwiw, but he just out muscled everybody

I will say it again.  Phinisee is better than that.   He is only now starting to show he can score, and putting up 31 a night.   He will start for Indiana from day 1.  Just like Yogi did.

Phinisee is clearly under ranked, but who cares, we know what we're getting and we're very lucky.

They sure don't give RP much love in the rankings for whatever reason.

Maybe but just think Morgan is to undersized for that to work against good teams that have real big men.

Maybe not. But that’s how Archie wants to play. The rest of this season will show that

Maybe he wanted to give Davis a fair shot. It may not be a coincidence that IU has looked better without him

That is a possibility but it's also possible neither team could exploit the size deficiency.

But don't make declarations like that's not how Archie wants to play. If he didn't want a center he wouldn't have been playing Davis and he wouldn't be recruiting no less than 3 big men for 2019

They’ve looked better without a true C. That’s how Archie played at Dayton. For this team and next season, that’s how IU is gonna play. I said nothing about 2019

So this season he's gonna play without a true center. Except for every game he had one he used him. 100% utilization sure does make it look like that's something Archie doesn't want to use

and while Dayton didn't use a true center last year that was more a result of the untimely passing of their center during the offseason.

With how the team is constructed for this season and next season, that’s how IU should play. Once 2019 hits, maybe that’ll change
