Some Numbers

Recommended Posts

Here are some not so, surprising numbers. This is our amount of TO's/AST and rank of each of those dating back to the 2088-09 season. I guess the season that surprised me the most would be the 14-15 season.

08-09...542to(325th) 364ast(263rd)

09-10...486to(289th) 375ast(245th)

10-11...415to(126th) 393ast(208th)

11-12...463to(245th) 487ast(49th)

13-14...482to(336th) 368ast(259th)

14-15...392to(129th) 473ast(66th)

15-16...470to(319th) 560ast(19th)

16-17thus far 394to(325th) 374ast(104th)

Yup. In a nutshell, I want a clean program that is in the conversation.

That is what really bugs me about the apologists. They act like those who want Crean and IU to move on expect FF and NC banners to be hung every year. No one with a brain thinks that. That is so unrealistic. We obviously know that are years where we simply aren't going to be as good as the other big dogs, but that doesn't mean we can't have a program that consistently finishes in the top 4 of the conference and is consistently a threat to make a run. We get that there will be a year here or there where we get bounced early in the tourney because of an upset. **** happens in one game formats, but we also know that we have a chance of making a run even in years where the talent isn't as deep because the team will improve as the season progresses. That is all I want. Consistency. I can't handle the peaks and valleys anymore. We shouldn't have to rely on NBA talent just making great individual plays to be consistent in this conference.

Correct.   And I've said that for a couple of years.   When Bob Knight was let go, people said the game had passed him by.  Time to go.   Blah, blah.  With his worst teams.  When he had truly quit caring about recruiting.  From 1994 until he was fired in 2000, he STILL finished higher than 4th four times.   Crean's done it twice in his career; and we're supposed to think that's okay??

I got into it a couple of years ago with one of the holier than thou folks on the Scout site about Bo Ryan and Wisconsin.  His argument was we don't want to be Wisconsin, they never win titles.  I said then and I'll say NOW that if Indiana is in the conversation every year, our fans will be happy, and we'll do just fine compared to Wisconsin because we'll always (with the right coach) be able to attract better talent.   Bo Ryan never finished BELOW 4th in the Big Ten.  Crean is 4-18 vs. Wisconsin.   Are we Indiana or...not?   Fred?  Mr. McRobbie?

We have beaten Wisconsin 4 times. That's shocking which is sad beyond belief.

Yeah that makes more sense What a sick joke.

Pretty sad we could offer an incentive to our next coach 250000 for every big ten team you have a winning record against after 5 years. 500000 for Purdue
