Random IUWBB Recruiting

Really not a recruiting topic since she's already joined the team but didn't feel it warranted its own thread.

Grace Withrow, a 5-4 guard and 2015 graduate of Valparaiso HS (IN), has joined the Indiana team as a walk-on.

Glad to see this- we need more bodies on this team!  Don't know what, if any, impact she will have, but I'm worried about depth this year.

Angel Reese, 6-3 W, St. Frances Acad. (MD-2020), has picked up offers from Indiana and Penn State; she now has seven Big Ten offers.

From last March in a semifinal game of the Dick'S High School Nationals.

 http://usatodayhss.com/2017/no-2-seed-hamilton-heights-christian-holds-off-no-3-seed-st-frances-academy-in-overtime

Freshman guard Angel Reese led St. Frances with 24 rebounds and 20 points, including nine points in the fourth quarter, none bigger than a putback at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. She also hit two free throws to put St. Frances up 55-54 early in overtime.

“Angel Reese had a great game and Mia Davis (who had 13 points) played stellar,” St. Frances coach Jerome Shelton said. “Angel’s mother was a very good rebounder. I think she led the nation at (University of Maryland-Baltimore County). She has good basketball DNA and great instincts. She wants the ball and essentially good rebounding is getting the ball.”

Yep. Versyp, like Painter, was close to getting fired and then suddenly figured out how to recruit again.

Jeanae Terry, 5-10 G, Wayne Memorial HS (MI-2019), has 26 offers, including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and Nebraska.

Wayne Memorial (17-5), A: The Zebras return all five starters from a team that lost in a regional semifinal to Belleville. Cameron Clegg () ??? signed with Clemson is likely a Miss Basketball candidate. Jeanae Terry (5-10) is a versatile junior who has 26 scholarship offers including ones from Indiana, Illinois, Florida and Nebraska.

oach Jarvis Mitchell calls junior Jayah Hicks (6-0) “my Draymond Green”. Hicks plays with a lot of energy. Sophomore Makailah Zeigler-Griggs (6-0) has received scholarship offers from Clemson, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Xavier. Zeigler-Griggs is physical player near the basket. Samiyah Hoskin (5-10) is a junior who plays the wing and is one of Mitchell’s top defenders. Junior Jasmine Elder (5-11) could see starter’s minutes as a reserve.

5. East Kentwood (26-2), A: The Falcons’ run to the state final last season
