    You be the Committee

There is no scenario putting us in the NCAA. None. It doesn't matter if literally every single game goes our way. We had our chance against OSU. Didn't do it. Not good enough. 8-12 even in a good conference isn't good enough. The Rutgers and Northwestern losses blowing huge leads killed them- win those and in.

Just keeping it real- there is no chance to get in. The loser of IU/OSU was going to be out. IU only played hard for 5 minutes out of 40. So let's hope for an NIT title.

I'm sure his advisors will help him make the right decision. If he's really projecting as a lottery pick, the risk of coming back is very high, leaving a lot of money on the table if you get hurt, have a bad year, etc.

OK, I can definitely see the truth in that part. That's a damn lot of coaches. Mike Davis is my favorite of the group by far. I thought Miller was a good hire, but it's hard to argue with the results so far. I think 2021 is the year. Next year is going to be very bad. If 2021 is also very bad, he's not the guy.

The question I have is, if Purdue can be a consistently good program, why cant IU? I'm not being sarcastic in any way. What has changed in the past 30 years? Why is Purdue a perennial tournament team and IU isn't? Never would have believed it.

What were they yelling at him?

No chance. Absolutely no way. Everyone knew they had to win today, which is why the lack of trying is disappointing. Hey if they don't care why should we I guess.

It wasn't the officiating. It was the effort. There were a TON of bad calls in this game both ways. That's the Big Ten. Poor effort for 35 minutes in a play-in game gets you in the NIT (we hope). Next year is a total rebuild, probably another NIT- if this team is in the NIT in 2021 as well, time to make a change.

What would it do for recruiting if you lost at home to a Northeastern or someone like that? But I want them to be in because it's a chance at hanging a banner, even if it's unlikely.

This team has no chance to make the NCAA next year. I'll be concerned if they miss the 2021 tourney. At that point, 4 years, time to be making the tournament once in a while.

The big danger with NIT is if you play a team that really wants to be there and lose at home in front of 3000 people. Damaging.

I think you answered your question. This team is not a blue blood. You can't be this bad for this long and still be one. Duke, Kentucky, UNC NEVER would have a few decade period where the program is an afterthought.

That's a good point actually. This team could win the NIT. Probably wouldn't have made it out of First Four in the NCAA.
  14. They sure did, the air coming out of the balloon makes a lot of noise!
