    Who knows?

Pack is coming and they hate each other

Pack isn’t coming and he doesn’t want to be the pg on a suck-@$$ team

    Euro opportunities

Infinite other possibilities that we haven’t thought of

Or the prospect of spending even one more year in an atmosphere like WL is too much to consider. He probably realized he needs to get out and experience a world that isn’t dreary and stinky all the time.

    Right.

Once they're in the portal they are the same status as any other player in the portal. IU can choose to take them back or not, and to do so either with or without a scholarship offer.

So they effectively aren’t student athletes with the school at which they played, correct?  So that would mean the Student Athlete Bill of Rights thing that was instituted a few years ago wouldn’t be in effect and IU wouldn’t be on the hook to honor the original scholarship?

Heck, I don’t even know if the SA Bill of Rights is a thing anymore. Didn’t it essentially say that if we awarded a scholarship and they played gets cut from the team we still honor the scholarship?  Please pardon my ignorance in the subject.

  3. Not ideal but I’m gonna be positive about this. We have the national stage all to ourselves for one game. Let’s go out and play loose and tough. Show the nation (and potential recruits) how the Hoosiers do it after the switch was flipped the second half of the Michigan game. Play an entertaining brand of ball, have fun while whooping up on Wyoming, then onward and upward.

  4. Numers from bartovvik:
Franklin had 67 shots at the rim (or dunks), made 32 (48%).  35% of Franklin's shots were dunks or at the rim.
Durham had 61 shots at the rim, and made 26 (42%).  27% of Durham's shots were at the rim.
Phinisee had 54 shots at the rim or dunks, made 32 (59%).  27% of his shots were at the rim or dunks.
Lander had 6 shots at the rim, made 2 (33%).  only 9% of his shots were at the rim.
Xavier Johnson had 85 shots at the rim or dunks, made 49 (57%).  44% of his shots were at the rim.

Numbers for Al seem a little low. Oh, wait a minute....I guess driving in among three 6’9” dudes and having your off-balance 8-footer swatted to half court doesn’t count as a shot at the rim.

    I kid, I kid....

  5. I know we’re getting all into the transfer portal speculation, but aren’t there usually some HS recruits who inexplicably still haven’t committed this time of year? Has anyone heard anything about if we are kicking the tires on some ‘21 HS recruits since CMW arrived? I’m all about the portal but it might be to our advantage to try to steal away a HS recruit while every other school is focused on the portal.

  6. Although I love Race because of his effort game-in and game-out, I get the feeling that he just wouldn’t fit a more open offensive approach. If he showed a greater propensity for hitting 15-footers I would love to see him back. I hate to say it but it just seems like he’s the odd man out. Sucks...

  7. To this point SD has kept an airtight lid on the search. Why would a leak come out at this point? I’m ok with Woodson but I find it really hard to believe that this is legit. I really don’t think any of the National pundits know wtf they are talking about but rather are trying to rile us up for their own recognition. Keep throwing names against the wall and eventually one will stick and they’ll call themselves experts for getting it right. Seems ridiculous to me.

  8. I’m going to go all Sunshine Pumper and say it’s definitely going to be Brad Stevens this time. I’m going to let my hopes soar with the eagles!

It’s easy for me to be like this knowing that there is a list of other good candidates to serve as a safety net if I’m wrong.

C’mon, Brad! You know what needs to be done. The idea of him leaving the Celtics for IU on St. Patrick’s Day is just to appealing to not cling on to!
