1 of the things Romeo really needs to work on is making hard cuts to get open. Not just at the end but all the time. Phinisee looks his way many times and turns it back the other way because Romeo isn’t separating.

Michigan State May get Isaiah Stewart (despite what optimists here think, Stewart and TJD won’t want to play together). Alford isn’t going to survive the season. Process of elimination = TJD to IU.

I still don’t understand the sudden Memphis draw. What’s the allure of moving to one of the worst cities in America to play for an unproven coach at a school with Memphis’ reputation? I realize he was an NBA player but these kids weren’t even alive when Penny Hardaway was relevant. I’m 30 and barely remember his good years.

If I was parent of one these recruits considering MSU I would sure be in their ear telling them I'd rather they not go there.

He avg a double double (basically).. shot 53% from the field, 49% from 3, and 1.5blks. I thought the only problem was we didn't have enough shooters and he had to go against double teams his entire FR year. 

Great thoughts everyone.  I was on campus throughout this entire saga.  Had some good friends close to the program.  I graduated in Knight's last year.  I think they did a really good job telling the story as they saw it.   
It is really a personal challenge to reconcile Bobby the basketball genius, with Bobby the human being.  I actually thought the documentary was really thoughtful in saying that they went into the story with the intent of showing "kids these days are just a little too soft for RMK."  But when they investigated further, there was way more to the story and it was pretty awful stuff. 
Bobby is a true bully.  When his teams weren't winning, he became an even bigger bully.  He used fear and intimidation with everyone around him.  The sign of a true narcissist is someone who can't take any challenge at all to their "omniscience".  I really really felt for Neil Reed.  I was glad they told his story completely.  Not just the stuff while he was playing there, but that RMK was petty enough to take a completely unnecessary and cheap shot at Neil and his dad long after he left the program, playing for a team that would never be any threat to IU.  
But what I thought was incredibly damning was that Jason Collier and Luke Recker BOTH refused to open their mouths when they could have.  Many ex players gave anonymous statements.  It was implied that these guys were terrified that Knight was going to ruin them publicly.  Once you are outside of Bobby's control, he will do anything to try and ruin you.  Perhaps even wishing you dead on ESPN radio.  
It sucks reconciling this.  His teams played the best basketball I've ever watched.  When Knight isn't being a bully, listening to him talk about basketball is like listening to Picasso talk about painting, or Marvin Gaye about writing music and singing.  You just feel like sitting down, leaning forward and listening for hours and hours.  
It must be similar to the way Penn State fans have to reconcile JoePa in their minds.  Obviously different situations, but rooting for a guy that you lionized for years, only to find out their flaws as they were exposed years later.  For the record, I'd take Bobby Knight over JoePa any day of the week and twice on Sunday over what went down at PSU (like that even had to be said!).  
I've moved on from Knight.  I know he'll never come back and I'm not even sure I want him back.  But I'll look back fondly on the days when that tough old crank had guys playing some unbelievable basketball.  Me thinks we might just have the best of both worlds moving forward with Archie, but time will tell on that one.  
 

So, here's the really important question: If Romeo does indeed decided to head to B-Town, what number does he wear? Does he do like a pro athlete and buy Al Durham a case of beer (just kidding) to pry No. 1 from him? Or does he buy Clifton Moore a case of beer (just kidding) to pry No. 22 -- Romeo's usual AAU number -- from him? Or does he just pick something different? 

I think you make a great point. Chris did say all the ducks were in a row in order for him to be at 98%. So I think you are on to something

Well I am sure the Langfords are appreciative of the support, especially from the IU fans, but I don't think Romeo would select IU because he'd be disappointing those fans who supported him, he needs to make his decision based on what he feels is the right fit, and right now the buzz is that it could be IU.

I don't know, but the Langford's are playing this out to the end. They (Romeo) are still portraying the whole `I haven't decided yet' angle. Could they be so blind as to not knowing the disappointment that would be felt by those in attendance at the announcement. Yes, these are his fans that have been behind him following his rise, but most are still IU fans. Would be a punch to the gut. The legacy though intact, would be somewhat diminished. Years down the road, just a whisper on the wind.

Unless he's obsessed with the chance to play with Romeo I saw enough of his play this past season that he needs another year of summer AAU and a high school season to be a significant contributor.  IMO he ought to be in contact with Clif Marshall on just what kind of strength training he should work on in the next 12 months.   Now having said all that, I suppose there's the outside chance to encourage a re-class if Archie just doesn't see Davis sufficiently recovering from his injury. 

I'm trying to stay convinced he's not coming to avoid disappointment, and it's not easy.

Only good new if it leads to the outcome we want though

It was fun reading everything from yesterday. And while all the talk and signs seem very favorable I am still not taking this as a sure thing until I hear it from Romeo.

Regardless of who he signs with, this definitely destroys any "Romeo didn't want to commit during his season because of the blowback" takes. Either he's signing with us, or he's not scared of blowback in the slightest. 

I still can't quite put into words how much it infuriates me that we tore down our program over excessive phone calls from a coach we hired to avoid the wrath of the NAACP while other programs are paying players and just flipping the bird at anyone and everyone while continuing to pay players and rewarding their coaches with contract extensions.

Am I the only one pissed that over the past week Kentucky has signed 2 5 stars and Duke has recruit #1,2,3 in the bag and we as fans are supposed to believe they are clean because they are Nike schools.

WTF NCAA!!!!!!! Why ONLY Adidas????

Well, like I said before my niece is a NA cheerleader and friends with Romeo. When we last talked about this six weeks or so ago she said he truly hadn't made up his mind yet. She had said before that she was pretty sure he was leaning to u of l before everything hit the fan there. I asked about if he had said anything about the other fib news that had come out back then and she said he said his dad didn't want him going anywhere there was any funny business going on. So hopefully this news today rules out Kansas.

Whether or not there's any affect on Kansas's season next year, I'd imagine the Langfords can't be looking upon this too fondly...

Someone asked the other day if we would be ok with IU winning if they cheated like everyone else... But eventually, things done in private come to the surface.

Win or lose, follow the rules.

I don't think Crean was a great in game coach but I wonder how different things would look at IU today, if he were on a level playing field in recruiting

I can't say I know anyone who searched channels looking for Wilkes at UCLA, Guy at VA, etc. Shawn Kemp lived within 5 miles and most could have cared less, even some who played with him. In Indiana basketball, once you divorce the state, you become the outlaw never invited back to the family reunion.
