Open up my MSN page today and see a story speculating on where Robbie Avila might go. Thinking it's a done deal that he's headed to SLU, just for fun -- I click on it. It includes us, PU, Illinois and Wisconsin -- in addition to SLU. It was penned by someone named John Canady of SportsGrid (whatever that is). Anyway, this is what it said about IU's chances ... With multiple talented prospects set to join the Hoosiers, the team may be on the verge of putting together a historic season. Adding a talent like Robbie Aliva would only help them do that. If the big man were to want to stay in Indiana, perhaps a step up in competition while staying local could be a good selling point. Let's break this down. Mike Woodson has done a great job at Indiana. ... No Building a more-than-competitive roster ... Depends on what that roster is for. If it's for intramurals, yes. If it's to compete in the upper half of the B1G and get an NCAA bid -- probably not. Multiple talented prospects set to join the Hoosiers ... Who are are they? Where are they? On the verge of a historic season ... Huh? Sorta makes you wonder how much research "reporters" from these fringe websites actually do -- and why what they write always has to be taken with a grain of salt.

How crazy would this be. Scott Drew to Kentucky. Bryce Drew to Baylor. BTW, I have not seen anything about this whatsoever (other than the rumors of Scott to Lexington), so it's not like I'm backing anything with fact. I just made it up.

Cal to the Hogs is official. Graphic is kinda weird, though. The blurred effect doesn't quite work for me. Looks as if someone spilled some pig slop on it!

The NCAA got kinda lucky this year. For both title games, they had No. 1 seeds and similar compelling storylines: The best player (Catilin Clark, Zach Edey) vs. the best team (South Carolina, UConn). On the men's side, you had the two perceived best teams: PU and UConn, plus the PUs were looking for "redemption" after losing the 1 vs. 16 game the previous year. That probably drew some casual fans. I always watch the title game because I'm a college hoops fan -- but TBH, I had very little interest in UConn-San Diego State last year.

Forde's nuts. Can you imagine a guy who's the president of the team with the NBA's best record -- by a healthy margin -- returning to coach college basketball? Coming to a game where he has to go into people's houses and beg kids to play for him? Where he has to figure out which players will get which pieces of the NIL pie? Where once a season ends, he has to keep an eye on who's leaving and who might be available to come into his program? Where the fan base (like ours -- LOL) is absolutely nuts? Where he has to run practices, go over film and prepare for games, etc?
