    (2020) PF/C - Dawson Garcia

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-schools-feeling-good-after-usa-basketball Article indicates that Garcia is down to 4: Indiana, Marquette, Minnesota, and Memphis.
  2. Yes. Goodman is starting to make the rounds again. I think he started with the Mountain West, so should see an updated Big Ten in the next few weeks. It’ll be interesting to compare.
  3. New CB picks for Trendon, too. 2 for LSU, 1 for Bama (from the Memphis guy). Memphis fans seem to want Precious more, so the local talk on him seems to have died down a little.
  4. Chris Fisher (CatsPause) with the UNC pick.
  5. The VT guy actually logged the ??? pick. Iowa guy has the UNC pick.
  6. I believe one was a VT to UNC switch, and the other was a ??? pick.
  7. Jeff Goodman‏Verified account @GoodmanHoops 2m2 minutes ago Miami likely to land one of the top guards left on the board in the senior class: Montverde Academy’s Harlond Beverly. He also considered Georgia, Michigan, Virginia, Indiana, Baylor, Kansas. Combo guard originally from Michigan. CB picks also backing this up. Everyone switching to the U.
  8. A lot has happened since Trendon named his Top 4... Duke has now entered the mix, albeit with no offer, making it a Top 5. LSU - Will Wade suspended + majority of key players entering the Draft Alabama - fired Avery Johnson, leaving Watfords to build relationship with new coaching staff. Indiana has remained in the picture, but always unsure of exactly how far in we are. We'll know more after the in-home on Sunday. It was on a Memphis radio show, so very one-sided. I've provided this as discussion and an example of how one of the competing schools' media markets views this recruitment.
  9. I agree. Memphis media come across as very arrogant in regards to the basketball team. As @Fkfootball1 said above, they are some of the biggest homers. Gary Parrish is even worse on his show.
  10. Why? Did you listen to the same segment? Curious of your take on it then...
  11. I live in Memphis and was just listening to 92.9FM sports radio. Watford played in an All-Star game in Memphis last night and was interviewed by one of the radio show hosts. Here are a couple paraphrased comments: LSU - no way. Complete rebuild Alabama - Hosts said Trendon told them he didn't have a good relationship with them. Duke - If Hurt chooses them, then no. They think if Hurt goes elsewhere, he gets the scholarship offer. Indiana - Immediately said "he's not going to Indiana." Completely dismissed IU. No real reason why though. Christian was supposedly on the show yesterday (92.9 FM Jason & John Show) Memphis - came to conclusion as Memphis will be choice based upon how they described each above. https://247sports.com/college/memphis/Article/Jeffries-confident-Tigers-will-land-Watford-and-Quinones-131135027/

    Getting Rid of Cable...maybe

I switched to DirecTV Now for about 6 months and tolerated it, but the streams could get out of whack and the DVR never worked as advertised. The price points also increased on me from $50 or so to around $65, so the cost justification I made wasn't really there anymore.

    2019 Coaching Carousel

Mick Cronin seems to be today's contestant for the UCLA opening. Edit: Jon Rothstein reporting it's done.
  14. Whoever runs that account finally did something smart and deleted the account entirely. 1 day too late though

    2019 Coaching Carousel

sounds like Bobby Hurley is their top candidate. I believe I read somewhere that the St John's AD is also a Duke guy.

    2019 Coaching Carousel

Rick Barnes staying with Tennessee. Who’s getting a raise next?
  17. The official transfer portal is run through the NCAA and something that we can't see. 247 and Verbal Commits databases that are compiled after transfers are made official through releases or the media.
  18. I believe it came down to IU/Georgia for 5th official visit (that he never took).
  19. Bumping this back up. He just received his release from Virginia Tech and IU was involved first time around. I’d imagine he’ll have a lengthy list of new suitors, too.

It just seems so scattered. They've been on this for 4 months and it's been awful.

Looks like UCLA is balking at that $8M buyout payment to TCU... Coaching Changes‏ @CoachingChanges 56s56 seconds ago UCLA snag, Dixon staying at TCU, as of now Bruins not willing to pay the 8 million dollar buyout. TCU not budging nor should they. Unless something happens Dixon will be back at TCU. per sources @coachingchanges cite it *******

    2019 Coaching Carousel

Agreed, but I think when you publicly flirt with John Calipari, you set your fan base up to hate anything less than that.

    2019 Coaching Carousel

Looks like a couple of Big Ten coaches involved with the Arkansas opening now. They seem to be scrambling after Sampson said no. Coaching Changes‏ @CoachingChanges 2h2 hours ago Now hearing Muss to Arkansas isn’t as close as we heard and that they have met with Fran McCaffery and Richard Pitino McCaffery makes no sense for that job, so maybe this rumor is unfounded Since they’re apparently liking white guys from the Midwest, Mick Cronin would win there

Looks like Jamie Dixon to UCLA. Cue the Desmond Bane transfer rumors... Go Joe Bruin‏Verified account @GoJoeBruinUCLA 10h10 hours ago Sources tell @MichaelMHanna and Go Joe Bruin that UCLA is nearing a deal with Jamie Dixon, pending finalization of his buyout with TCU. 1:11 AM - 3 Apr 2019

I've followed this account for a few years now. There are multiple people behind this account, most seem to be ex-coaches of some sort. If you scroll through their tweet history, there are a few instances where they seem to be ahead of mainstream media on some names.
