I can't think of anymore more dissimilar to Dakich as Titus. He's an IU fan and he's an entertainer. Posting a meme is not "provoking".

Beilein - You could win now with our current roster while getting an assistant to work beneath Beilein and take over in say 6 to 8 years health depending. Winning gets recruits and making the tourney helps as well. Fife could be one in the waiting perhaps?
Beard - This would be the other route I'd go other than Beilein. Younger guy, could be that 20+ year coach. 16-17(1st year) he went 18-14 and missed the tourney, however, 17-18 went to Elite Eight, 18-19 went to the final game and last year would have made the tourney. This year they are a 6 seed. He's more than proven he can get to the tourney and succeed at Texas Tech(B12 is not an easy conference to play in with Texas/Baylor/Kansas/Etc).
Stevens - Pipe dream yes but never say never. Look at Georgetown, they had a 0.5% chance to win their conference tourney this year and they did just that. Strevens knows hoosier hospitality above most on our wish list.
My preference Stevens/Beard/Beilein in that order.

I’ll beat the opposite drum. Beilein with our current roster could win immediately. Is he the long term answer? No. But he fixes things immediately. Could even hire him and do a coach in waiting as the associate head coach. Or just have the program in a much better spot for when he retires in 6-7 years. We don’t need a coach for the next 30 years, we just tried that. We need a coach who could win now. Beilein fits that bill.

Beilein wins immediately upon landing at Indiana and leaves us in much better position to land a suitable replacement when he’s ready to call it quits. We can do much worse than Beilein, imho. I’m over here gnawing my fingers to the bone, worrying about us hiring Alford or Fife. I’d be happy with coach Beilein.

Great in his day, as in 2 years ago? He played in the national championship 3 years ago and won 30 games 2 years ago. He's not at the top of my list, but I don't think the game has passed him by.

Give me Beilein over Fife all day every day for the rest of time. There's no argument for Fife other than him being an IU guy.
Deathly afraid I'm going to see the name Steve Alford sometime soon. I have zero faith in our admin until they do the right thing. Firing Archie this quickly was a great start.

Huh I remember hearing something like that and maybe even posting it.

Would not be unhappy with Beilein... if I somehow get some confirmation that he has learned from his comments while with the Cavs. Also, would need to see a solid assistant staff.

John Beilein would be a great place to start.

I agree with the Beilein sentiment. I honestly am surprised at how many people on here are saying “nope” to him. He’s an old, proven coach who could get the program back on track.
I believe this program needs, right now, someone who makes basketball exciting again while getting us back to the Tournament consistently. After that, this job will become a lot more attractive in 5 or so years.
Beilein could be the perfect candidate assuming recruits/high schools-aged kids would not be turned away from his short stint in Cleveland. -

3 Run walk off HR by Richardson over LF wall barely below scoreboard! Shades of Matt Lloyd two years ago!

I believe we will get him to come back to the state and coach us to a 6th banner. I truly do.
Welcome home, Gregg Popovich!
