38 minutes ago, Prilla the Thrilla said:My buddy is close with an IU student that has "relations" with a player or two on the team. This student said that according to a player that will remain nameless, Donovan has communicated with players today (not sure if the whole team or not, and not sure if he communicated with them in Bloomington or not), but there has been communication between BD and members of the team. This player also said it has been made pretty clear that all of the guys want Donovan, and that his hiring would prevent a lot of transfers.
Stop it! Where to begin?
An NBA coach who doesn't want to distract his current team is communicating with members of a college team? That's not how you keep something like this under wraps.
One of the IU players shared this information with a student? If the player shared the news with that student then he would have shared it with numerous other individuals, the entire campus would know by now.
Sometimes we all want to avoid what is clearly visible. We are about to go down the Adidas rabbit hole with Steve Alford and Ed Schilling.

It's not a stretch to see IU offer him 5.5 a year once Arizona's tournament run has ended.

Do you mean Archie? Lol
No sir. Sean fits the profile of the established coach that Fred Glass was talking about in his press conference.

I think folks are forgetting about Sean Miller, he seems to be the most likely realistic candidate.

If Indiana University's wealthy alumni are primarily interested in reaching back to the past why not make Calbert Cheaney, Damon Bailey and A. J. Guyton the three assistant coaches?

It is certainty possible that Billy Donovan will not be the next men's basketball coach at Indiana University. Bringing a sitting NBA coach back to college is no easy task even if that coach is contemplating a move.
If Fred Glass announces Ryan Joseph "Archie" Miller as our new head coach on Tuesday I will still be very excited about the future of this program.

Even if Billy Donovan has a verbal contract in place with Indiana University, Fred Glass must have a secondary plan ready to go. A 2007 Orlando Magic situation happening to us this April or May would not be good.

If this is happening Adrian Wojnarowski will likely break the story.
Donnie Jones is currently a college scout with the Los Angeles Clippers and probably would be the first staff member in Bloomington.

The Adidas Classic is a proposed four-team basketball event to be held in Chicago, Illinois at Wintrust Arena. It would feature the four most established Adidas brands in college basketball; the Indiana Hoosiers, the Kansas Jayhawks, the Louisville Cardinals, and the NC State Wolfpack.
