  1. IndyHutch -- your article was spot on in terms of how the Hoosiers needed to address the business at hand.  It appeared IU didn't have its head totally in the game with 15 turnovers and 36% shooting. Jim
  2. This loss is very painful to handle by everyone who is looking for better football outcomes this year.  The primary criticism I have had with Coach Kevin Wilson, is that he tends to "shutdown" the offense when we are clicking. We should start calling him Captain Shutdown, and everyone would identify with it.  One other thing, the defense just isn't that good or Rutgers would not be able to tag 55 on us. I guess we need to keep pressing on so to speak.
  3. Good analysis Terry! I feel as others have stated, we attempted to jam OSU by loading the box and three runs got away from us. I was  concerned before the season began about our depth, and you said IU is definitely deeper this year than in the past. I do believe you had a little insight into this. But, we do need to stay healthy to keep the best team out there.
  4. In 1979, the Hoosiers were 7-4 under Lee Corso and won 4 of their first 5 games. They lost to a very good Colorado team by one point or would have been 5-0. They ended the season with an exciting win at the Holiday Bowl over BYU 38-37.

IU Football Media Day News and Notes

IU has to win the first four (4) games which isn't a given and stay healthy. Their first team should be able to play with most elite teams but their depth (the 2nd and 3rd stringers) is not as strong as their counter parts on the other Big Ten teams. Jim Hammond
