    (2019) PG Austin Van Zyl

It’s already been pointed out that Fitzner was a use it or “lose” it. We had an open scholarship and knew we were getting it back the very next year. No Risk hoping for a reward, didn’t pan out but nothing was lost. You keep trying to spin everything to horrible signings and/or creaning by unfortunately for your argument there isn’t any evidence of that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I understand the numbers, not arguing on either side. I just fail to see how a coach can drastically change a shooters percentage. Unless Archie is literally trying to overhaul everyone’s shot to something they’ve never done, which doesn’t seem to be the case, I’ve always been one that tends to believe that rests mostly on the individual. Get there before stay after and put the shots up. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    And then...there's this. DeVonte Green

What’s wrong with this? I highly doubt he thinks he’s getting drafted. If you had your eye on a job and were given the opportunity to interview for free as well as get feedback from the interviewers on what you need to work on to put yourself in a better position for that job why would you not do that. Probably will be good to hear from others, outside of coaching staff, on what exactly he needs to hone in on. Morgan was not likely to get drafted last year and did the same thing as did many others. If you’re a starter or major role player on any team I don’t see why you wouldn’t go through this process. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

JUCO: 6'4" SG Sean McNeil to West Virginia

I would love to have a kid like this. I think some people think every player we bring in needs to be a stud. What this team needs is solid/consistent role players. As mentioned before this kid will stretch the floor and force the defense to respect his shot. Hypothetically, if a player with that outside shooting ability was on this roster, say they only average 6 ppg, but stretch the floor and clears the Lane up some allowing Juwan and Romeo to get better lanes and shots. Maybe they both increase their ppg by 4-6 because of that. So a player like this essentially brings an additional 14-18ppg. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Inclined to Give Archie a Break

Changing your style and philosophies based on players is not a very good recipe for long term success, As has been stated multiple times. You recruit players for your system, not constantly change your system based on players. This seems to be more difficult for some to accept than others but it is what it is. It makes no sense to change his system to try to salvage a year. Outside of Romeo he has an entire roster of young players that will be here for another 2-3 years that will know the system and will be able to help incoming players learn it as well. If you change it year by year you never get that consistency. If we still suck year 3/4 then I’ll be the first to admit that maybe we were wrong about Archie, but people crucifying him need to set more realistic expectations. So some concerns I’m having...

This team certainly has its flaws, especially offensively. But one of the things I think IU has been missing for a long time is that energy spark player. An AJ Moye or Will Sheehey type. They need someone to come in off the bench and bring the energy. No one seems to show much enthusiasm or carry it over when big plays happen. Juwan occasionally will flex after an and1 or dunk, but we haven’t had a big spark plug in awhile and this team desperately needs to play with more energy and enthusiasm and carry it over to both ends of the court. Perhaps it’s a Jerome Hunter or someone that’s been injured. Certainly need solid recruits that fill needs, but surely someone on this team can learn to let loose and play with some emotion and fire instead of being so nonchalant about everything. Stevie Boy Wonder Fired at UCLA

I’m not saying it’s true, I’m just relaying that I had heard that a big time lawyer and a “billionaire” that are associated with the booster club are wanting Pitino. With the way the way things have played out I would not say he’s out of the question. At some point programs just want to win and will take a few weeks of scrutiny. Let’s be honest, if they do hire Pitino once the season starts and they win some games all the negatives headlines will go away and it’ll turn in to if Pitino can take them back to glory.
