IUWBB vs Fairfield - Saturday, 03.23.24 @ 1:30 on ESPN2
AZ Hoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
The men’s team has earned every one of those shots. And Bozich does a good job of pointing out that the women’s team is not that. The fact that the women’s team is not that is, IMO, a good way to start the article. The women’s team has had its injuries- probably more than the men’s team, yet they find a way to overcome and excel. -
If wishes and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a merry Christmas. Fland was always going to Kentucky. Queen was always going to Maryland. We had Liam until he saw what a train wreck Woodson’s team is, and he bailed. Woodson may not be actively trying to tank the program, but he’s clearly too lazy and too full of himself to to anything else. And Buckner is standing guard over his boy protecting his “legacy”.

Lopes Up, babeee!
-
No way, man... Bryce Drew is ours! #LopesUp. :D :D

The issue with Malik is that pesky rule about disqualifying a player after the 5th personal foul.
-
After all, it ain’t Woodson’s money.

Indiana Players Now In The Portal
AZ Hoosier replied to Chris007's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It’s ok. The NCAA always chose when to enforce them and when to look the other way. At least there’s a relatively level playing field now. -
Doesn’t this whole scenario in fact make Woodson and Buckner “bigger that the program”? How can the administration be so afraid of that that they are willing to make it so for their guy. You’re right, these people are idiots. Fire them all today.

The Cooks and the Simons have lots of money. This nightmare could go on for years.
-
Lopes are in. They won the WAC tournament last night over UT-Arlington to punch their ticket. GCU is 29-4 this year, and also won the WAC regular season title. The Lopes jumped to D1 in 2013, and Bryce Drew was hired in 2020 to replace former Phoenix Sun Dan Majerle as head coach. In Drew's 4 years here, he's led the Lopes to the NCAA tournament 3 times.
-
Tough to hear that about Dusty... was hoping that this was all a bad dream... but sadly, it's not... it's our reality as Hoosier fans with Buckner driving this ship.
-
Well, last night was certainly entertaining. The team was blown out and Woodson managed to get thrown out with the same little effort that seems to be his calling card. Just checking back in to see if he's still employed? Apparently Dolson hasn't yet grown a pair. Next year will be downright brutal. Who in their right minds would want to play for this clown? No amount of NIL money would be worth in IMO. Carry on. BTW, my 'Lopes are playing today for the WAC championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. I'll have Brice Drew give a shoutout to Woodson in his post game presser.

If that turns out to be true, then I am leaving... Screw Buckner, screw Woodson... I will be back when Indiana fires Woodson's sorry @$$ and hires a coach... until then, I am done watching, rooting and caring. Thanks to all for letting me ride along the past couple of years... I'll be back some day (hopefully)... until then:
-
So, according to Gallo, we are getting a new coach... he said he's coming back to play for the best coach in the country... no way that's Woodson...
-
Leal is back... and he told the "fans" that "you gotta chill".
-
He (and now X) refer to the "true fans" and stressing the "true fan" part, suggesting that if we're not happy as pigs in slop, we aren't "true fans".
-
And another "in your face" shot at the fans...
-
Shot number two
-
So you're saying there IS a chance? :D
-
Woodson got a dig in at the fan pushback - the thanked (and stressed twice) that he wanted to thank the "true fans". What a tool.
-
It's live with video.
-
Or how about just letting Scott Dolson do the job he was hired to do without all of the nepotism and interference from the BoT?
-
Ok, fair enough... but if all of that is true, why extend Woodson another year? What has he proved this year beyond the fact that the cannot get (or keep) recruits? He hasn't found "the hump", and, frankly he's done nothing to merit another year IMO. The facts are (1) he got Liam; (2) he failed to maintain that relationship; (3) he continues to play a style that was not compatible with Liam's strengths and abilities; (4) he had to be told to go watch Mullins' sectional game; (5) when he visited Flory Bidunga, he called him "Cory"; and (6) he lost Liam. But I bet he got to "wine" and "cigar" time without any issues... and never missed a tee-time...
-
So how does this pertain to the hire and retention of Woodson? Who "knew" or "didn't know"? The obvious reason for "ruling by committee" is that it's impossible to hold an individual accountable for a bad decision... remember, a giraffe is a horse built by a committee.

Crean was manic... and he had his quirks, but at least he had a plan... Woodson should never have been hired (it was a "payback" because Glass refused to consider him - a gift from Buckner)... but there's a whole thread that extols the virtues of having Woodson as a coach and his obvious shortcomings... so no need to derail this thread with that... At least Crean could recruit...
