It doesn’t mean that it was without an agenda.

So, besides Leal and Galloway, only TWO other players in 50+ years? Sorry, that doesn't pass the smell test.
-
Only if they've recently installed a wine bar/cigar lounge with a putting green.

There is much more parity today. No number 1 seed lost their first round game until Virginia in 2018 - 38 years after he was gone. There were 32 teams in the tournament starting in 1975, and up to two teams from the same conference. The tournament expanded to 40 teams in 1979 and the limit on the number of teams from a conference was completely removed.

To quote Tom Crean, IU's administration is toxic. Guess we can scratch ol' Bucky off the list.

OK, I know that "senior day" was several weeks ago, but something has been gnawing at me about that whole thing. Why were Leal and Galloway even there? If they were coming back, why "honor" them with framed jerseys and speeches? How many other Hoosiers were able to go through that twice? And to what end? My theory: It was all a setup. Woodson and company orchestrated the whole thing just to tweak the collective noses of the "not true" Hoosier fans. Think about it. Woodson does his "not true fans" propaganda, strutting his big old lazy @$$ ego out there and calls out the fans that are unhappy with the effort and product that he's produced. Then comes Leal and Galloway to "reveal" that they are coming back, and each gets their digs in at the "not true" fans. IMO, it was pathetic theatre for the sole purpose of giving La-Z-Boy Woodson a big, fat, undeserved "atta-boy". Discuss.

I actually like that move. I've seen BDrew in action for the past couple of years, and truly believe that he's gonna be a really good one, and soon. Was listening to local sports talk this morning and the topic of someone poaching BDrew soon came up. I hope he lasts here (GCU) another year, mainly because Foster-Grant and McGlothan are gone. I'd like to see how BDrew rebuilds, but somebody's going to give him a shot. I'm also a bit interested in what happened at Vandy... need to do some research there.

Dang it. Good effort. No shame.

Interesting option here. Hopefully it’s a better option than the last guy we got from Marquette.

I wish the IU administration would lay off Woodson today.

NCAA MBB Coaching Carousel
AZ Hoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Because it needs to be done. It’s sickening that this administration so so afraid of the optics that they are mean-spirited and need to be fair the the incompetent coaches that they continue to hire and that they keep long past the expiration date. This is the essence of what Leo Durocher meant when he said “nice guys finish last”. The Indiana administration (looking at you, Quinn Buckner) - stop worrying about who thinks that you are being mean and do the right thing. -

AZ Hoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
The men’s team has earned every one of those shots. And Bozich does a good job of pointing out that the women’s team is not that. The fact that the women’s team is not that is, IMO, a good way to start the article. The women’s team has had its injuries- probably more than the men’s team, yet they find a way to overcome and excel. -
If wishes and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a merry Christmas. Fland was always going to Kentucky. Queen was always going to Maryland. We had Liam until he saw what a train wreck Woodson’s team is, and he bailed. Woodson may not be actively trying to tank the program, but he’s clearly too lazy and too full of himself to to anything else. And Buckner is standing guard over his boy protecting his “legacy”.

Lopes Up, babeee!

No way, man... Bryce Drew is ours! #LopesUp. :D :D

The issue with Malik is that pesky rule about disqualifying a player after the 5th personal foul.

After all, it ain’t Woodson’s money.

Indiana Players Now In The Portal
AZ Hoosier replied to Chris007's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It’s ok. The NCAA always chose when to enforce them and when to look the other way. At least there’s a relatively level playing field now. -
Doesn’t this whole scenario in fact make Woodson and Buckner “bigger that the program”? How can the administration be so afraid of that that they are willing to make it so for their guy. You’re right, these people are idiots. Fire them all today.

The Cooks and the Simons have lots of money. This nightmare could go on for years.
-
Lopes are in. They won the WAC tournament last night over UT-Arlington to punch their ticket. GCU is 29-4 this year, and also won the WAC regular season title. The Lopes jumped to D1 in 2013, and Bryce Drew was hired in 2020 to replace former Phoenix Sun Dan Majerle as head coach. In Drew's 4 years here, he's led the Lopes to the NCAA tournament 3 times.
-
Tough to hear that about Dusty... was hoping that this was all a bad dream... but sadly, it's not... it's our reality as Hoosier fans with Buckner driving this ship.
-
Well, last night was certainly entertaining. The team was blown out and Woodson managed to get thrown out with the same little effort that seems to be his calling card. Just checking back in to see if he's still employed? Apparently Dolson hasn't yet grown a pair. Next year will be downright brutal. Who in their right minds would want to play for this clown? No amount of NIL money would be worth in IMO. Carry on. BTW, my 'Lopes are playing today for the WAC championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. I'll have Brice Drew give a shoutout to Woodson in his post game presser.

If that turns out to be true, then I am leaving... Screw Buckner, screw Woodson... I will be back when Indiana fires Woodson's sorry @$$ and hires a coach... until then, I am done watching, rooting and caring. Thanks to all for letting me ride along the past couple of years... I'll be back some day (hopefully)... until then:
